Sobbing over the death of a TV character

We are binge watching Boardwalk Empire. My favourite character died last night and I was in bits. It was beautifully done and a shocking end to the season.
I haven't felt this way since Thelma and Louise went over the canyon. Sad

Oh yes, and it doesn’t get any better. Wonderful series, I really miss it. I think I know which character but won’t say in case of spoilers.

All I’ll say about that death is that ‘what goes around, comes around’. Which isn’t a spoiler because the whole series is based on actions, counteractions and revenge.

Rugger, exactly. ER was a killer for making me cry.

Me and DH both cried when Jack died in this is us and at the funeral. I cried like someone I actually knew had died Blush

RuggerHug - 1 million percent YES. And when he was Goose in Top Gun. How many times did Anthony Edwards have to die on screen and make it so emotional......
Wonder what he's up to now?

Mark Green of course but also Greg Pratt in ER. His death was devastating. I sobbed. At least with Green you knew it was coming and he had a somewhat peaceful passing.

Ive been binge watching that too. What a fab series. Best thing I have watched in years. I suspect your favourite character is mine too OP. Loved him and yes I blubbed my heart out when he went, not for the first time in that series.

The red wedding was more shocking than sad I thought.

I don’t think I’ve ever got over nana moon dying in Eastenders. Sobbed, sobbed and sobbed some more (I was heavily pregnant at the time so hormones all over the place!)

Report
HRTpatch · 10/08/2018 08:09

Yes hormones could be playing a part. Just come off HRT.

Matthew Crawley
The way they did it was cheesy as hell, but the context was just so sad! I cried a lot.

Tony in Soldier Soldier, totally out of the blue and knocked me for six.

I avoid ER just in case it's the one with Dr Green. Walking Dead destroyed me when certain characters died.

Inspector Morse! Knew it was going to happen but OMG I really did sob

And yes, the Red Wedding. More shock, and the realisation that THAT was what GoT was going to be like...

I bawled my eyes out at the series finale of the 100 this week.

DH looked at me like I'd gone mad!
