To wonder where the fuck my face went????

Had the first opportunity/occasion to put on a proper face of make up since I had DS. Had a leisurely shower, a face mask, sat down with a small amount of actual time to myself, excited to feel like Peapod again rather than a washed out Mammy. I applied my usual evening 'face', which used to look nice I think yet I somehow looked like a clown. I've aged soooo badly!! My face has sagged and is certainly not where I left it last time I paid it proper attention. What the hell gravity? I didn't sign up for this shit!

Anyone else care to share the point they realised they were no longer youthful? Or more importantly, tips to give the illusion that my face is still on the front of my head rather than dangling below my jaw?

I have no advice sadly but my face has done exactly the same. It happened around the time I turned 41. I've found myself obsessively staring at other people's jaw lines and wondering why their faces aren't hanging off. I'd probably not look so bad if I hung upside down.

you have just got used to your natural look I don't think your face has aged that much you are just not used to seeing your self with dramatic evening makeup. if you go to a Mac counter and get them to make you up you may learn some tips?

I’m 46 and have started patting my jawline anxiously. Like a kind of nervous tic.

Would a super tight ponytail hoik it back up?

There should be face bras.

When my luxury pre baby nightly hot cloth cleanse, serum, moisturiser routine suddenly turned into: clean face with baby wipe, rub a bit of Vaseline where face feels dry/old.

My smile and frown lines are out of control, I must permanently be simultaneously smiling and frowning without realising. There's no other explanation. Rough.

Yes when I imagined aging I pictured just becoming more wrinkly. I didn’t expect my face and jawline to sag so noticeably at 39... I have been researching necklifts and mini-facelifts... I couldn’t afford it even if I wanted to go ahead, but would you? If you can/could?!

Soon After DS3 I discovered ages spots, crows feet and eye bags. I was 39. Now just 40 the eye bags have bags. But I can’t really be bothered to do much about it. I bought some serum with birthday money. 3 weeks in, not sure if the eye bag bags are changed at all.

Was never a big wearer of make up, and the little I did wear still gets worn quite regularly (liquid eyeliner, powder blusher, shiny shit for cheekbones). The shiny stuff is actually the same stuff I bought in about 2002 (!) and I find it settles a bit in my lines, so might have to re-think that.

I thought I was doing well - then I took out the ponytail I’ve had in pretty much since DS was born. I had no idea you could hide a pretty much entire head of grey Hair with a ponytail (it’s working for me, I’m sticking with it)

Same here. It literally looks like my face is sinking like an underdone soufflé or melting like a very old, often lit candle.
My beautiful eyes are being swallowed by my ever increasing eyelids.
The only time I look in a mirror is to pluck out the fucking black chin hair or the fucking white eyebrow hair.
My eyesight has always been shite, now my reading vision is fading too. It's probably for the best.

I need a face bra! Grin I haven't even thought about face and neck lifts, I'm 29, that should be a decade away yet surely! I just seem to have aged very badly, very quickly Confused

sourpatch I'm doing the same with the grey hair. Mine was cut to jaw length when DS was born, it's now down past my shoulder blades. Haven't managed to make it to the hairdressers at all. I've properly le myself go Blush

Sometimes I take a selfie just to see how bad I look. It's a kind of fascination.

I’m sorry, but if you are 29 it’s noth8ng to do with age. I’m not even convinced it can be age for those in their early 40s!

My poor 77 year old mum - one cataract operation and corneal transplant later she was horrified at seeing her wrinkles. She hadn't seen her face properly for years.

My face, at 45, looks ravaged. Hello enormous jowls, crows feet, wrinkled forehead enormous eye bags and smokers lips - and I DON"T EVEN SMOKE.

Microneedling works well. If you cant afford to do that then you can buy them online. Hurts a tiny bit and encourages the skins natural healing process which also increases collagen. All natural no surgery it’s a small tool and quick and easy needs doing a few times a week- take a look on google x

Yup last couple of years I can see the elasticity starting to go. Now there's shadows in the wrong places especially around my mouth in darker light and loads of wrinkles round my eyes in the sunshine. Ugh.

I got a shorter hairstyle and wear bright lipstick to try and distract from the rest of my face Grin Actually the hairdresser did comment shorter hair takes years off me and I think she is right.

I bought a home micro-needling kit from QVC and it's made a big difference in every way.

So do HIFU, (i'm saying this a lot lately). They are often on Groupon/Wowcher/Livingsocial.

I've also started contouring under my jaw line. I hadn't noticed the difference, until I saw a photo of myself.

Before DS (7 months) I used to get ID’d all the time and often told how much younger I looked than my age.

Not any more!!! Ugh, sleep deprivation / general parenting stress is no good for my face. In mere months I have developed frown lines and a general tired look!

I realised how soft my jawline was looking this weekend. It bothers me way more than the changing hair colour!

GoFundMe for the capital to develop face bras?

I am exactly the same (sob).

I might get me some Facelift Tape

If it's good enough for Joan Collins (apparently)...

Yep!

Like, what is this face? Why is it on me?!

The difference between me tired now and me after serious facial and nurturing is at least ten years.

I think I’m going to hone down my body and just get that out more in the clothes I wear instead.
