AIBU?

AIBU - a physical trait (of- mine) that I have always hated is now fashionable....

I have freckles, covered in the buggers. Face, arms, knees, legs - everything but my tummy. I hate them with a passion. My DF always joked that in the summer when they were at their most potent, it looked as if I had stood too close to a muddy puddle and someone had dropped a brick in it. Previous sentence is for context not father bashing. He meant it in the best possible way and in humour, I love him dearly.

I am lucky that I tan and don't burn but I do have dark hair so this may be the reason why. I feel so ugly in the summer when they come out fighting. I have good(ish) skin but I long for a clear complection and decolletage.

Anyway, I found this link before on Buzzfeed: linky

I am all for personal preference but who in their right mind would willingly get freckles?

I have always loved my freckles. My favourite thing about spring/summer is that they always become pronounced.

I am 35 and never disliked them.

I think freckles are lovely; I love when mine come out in the summer.

Freckles make you look young.....that's my theory anyway

I desperately wanted freckles when I was younger, and red ringlety hair...to be honest I'd love them now...

PurpleMinion That is very true. Last week I had the majority of the cashiers exclaiming my age when they asked for ID. I am 30 and up until recently have been asked for ID when paying for fuel.....I drove into the petrol station.

I just think they make me look grubby but I am very, very freckly. DH seems to like them though and to be fair, they are good at hiding spots.

Natural freckles are lovely.

The people in your link look stupid. They don't even look like freckles! Or am I missing something?

Embrace your lovely, natural freckles OP!

The tattooed ones look like blackheads to me.

I can't comment because i have tattooed eyebrows and they are often commented on.

Each to their own.

Some of those girls look very cute, it's their style, no different to getting their eyebrows tattooed which whilst definitely not my cup of tea is widely acceptable now. Goodness just think back to 'beauty spots' in previous centuries, it's just fashion. Take it as a compliment Smile

I'm a total freckle merchant. As my dad always says to me, 'A girl without freckles is like a sky without stars'
Those tattoos look so fake.

The first 2 photos look shit. Like really big black heads.

My freckles are like the woman in the photo at the top. Completely covered in them. Still love them.

Freckles are beautiful!

However those tattooed ones in the link just look very weird and very fake.

Report
Crunchymum · 18/06/2017 18:24

In the link is it just the first person who has natural freckles?

Because she was the only one who looks good. The rest look weird!!

Love freckles... real freckles!!

Freckles are gorgeous - on women and men. I used to have them when I was v young and wish so much I still did. Embrace them in the knowledge lots of us wish we had them!

Phoenix I like the stance on this. If something I hate is being emulated, then them I should embrace the fact I have them naturally.

Sparkle That is a lovely sentiment. Your Dad sounds lovely Smile

Freckles are beautiful! I have a smattering over my nose and cheeks but all mine and DH's daughters, bar one, have loads of them. The one that doesn't, she is mixed race, really really wishes she had them like her sisters! She's beautiful too of course! Loads of them in our family, with a good percentage of ginger haired DCs too, all gorgeous. I could be a tiny bit biased of course.

PS we say freckles are kisses from the sun!

I have freckles, as has my dd despite being mixed race. She has a sprinkling of them across her nose and upper cheeks.

Mine are on my face and arms. I hated them as a child as was teased for them but I'm ok with them now.

Hmm honestly I have to admit I've never liked freckles Blush

Do you cover yours with makeup, OP?
