AIBU?

To think I'm not unreasonable to tell sister no to this baby name?

Loveheart Belle Princess.

That is what my sister has decided the baby shall be called. She refuses to accept that I have said no and has started to refer to her as that.

Her argument is that it's a really pretty name, princesses are cool and she can call her love for short which is nice.

I think at 6 she is old enough to be told fuck no and be banned from naming anything Grin

Or am I missing out and will regret not using said name?!

That's a great name. My DD at 3 suggested to my BF that she named her baby Big Bad Barry. Funnily enough, BF decided to call him Max instead. Smile

Our male hamster has just been named Rainbow Loveheart. Loveheart must be the new Gracie-Mae...

If you do call her that, she will be the coolest kid at nursery at the age of 4.

maybe not so much in job interviews though

Well, it's an acquired taste.

I know of a child called Heart and I thought that was bad enough.

At 4 my dd insisted that she was no longer her name and would only respond to Derek. Was waiting for the thread about that one as got a few funny looks in the supermarket.

You realise she will never forgive you when the baby comes out and it's called.......Ann or similar. You're going to be in the bad books for life!

I think a trip to bear workshop where a suitable bearer of the name Loveheart Belle Princess can be made and awarded to 6yo to look after. Then obviously the baby will need a different name as Loveheart Belle Princess will be already taken.

Except if your baby is a boy. It would be an excellent name for a boy, breaking down gender stereotypes etc.

My insisted that her sibling was going to be called Baby Rosabella........ regardless of sex.

She still uses it sometimes. She is 20- he is 15.............

I like it. Especially if the baby turns out to be a boy.

I wanted my little brother to be called Conker. 18 years later I still think my parents made a big mistake saying no.

Saying that, Dh peeked over my shoulder and said

"What a stupid name. That sister is cruel. Hope you told her to fuck off"

He looked a bit embarassed when I pointed out she was 6 Grin

When DS was born, dd1 was 2. She thought Bagpuss was a great name for a brother. Not sure he'd thank her for it now he's 14!

I let Dd name ds. She was 3 at the time. If you love your child then why wouldn't you let them name their sibling? Children come first!

dd's suggestion was Matthew.

Little girl at our local primary is called Princess. Even the little kids think it's weird. Unfortunately she's plump and very gobby. Sooo not a princess!
