The order of cutlery in the cutlery drawer. Should it go

A. Forks, knives, spoons

or

B. Knives, Forks, Spoons

Things have come to a head today after months of us both stealthily swapping them to the correct way, depending on who's unloading the dishwasher. I said I'd ask Mumsnet and whatever you say will be the way in future (even if it is the wrong way).

Seriously? There's a correct order of cutlery in a drawer??

AppleSetsSail · 23/04/2016 13:12

I'd have to go and check in the kitchen which order mine is in, and it seems pretty far.

Surely the point of the cutlery drawer is to separate knives, forks and spoons, so there's no proper 'order'?

I didn't know there was actually a correct order for in the cutlery drawer. Confused

RumbleMum · 23/04/2016 13:15

I should say that it turns out it's actually B in our house, which is clearly why the cutlery drawer has been subtly bugging me for a while. Time to LTB as this is clearly DH's doing.

A. So that they are in the right position to plop straight onto the table.

Spoon fork knife

Report
TakeItFromMe · 23/04/2016 13:18

I'm A too - so they're in the order they would be on the table

DH is B, but his reasoning is weak: 'because you say Knife & Fork, not Fork & Knife'

I can see you're mainly Bs but you're all wrong 'uns so.
