We like to watch the little orphans from the workhouse sing merrily as they scavenge for scraps outside our snow laden window.

That my dad still buys me a Rupert annual, and has done since 1969.

My 1940s Christmas CD-Dp hates it but it WILL be going on,it's all crackly and I love it. Mind you the dtwins managed to get it off last year and we were all subjected to Rockin Around The Christmas Tree not exactly the ambiance I like to have on Xmas morning but thats 4 year old boys for you

A latte made from Illy coffee(the only tin I'm allowed all year)

The kids opening their stockings in our bed Christmas morning.

The Muppets Christmas Carol! I love that film so much!

Choosing the tree.

Getting the pressies sorted ready for opening.

Telling my kids (every year) how spoilt they are!

DH disappearing for about three hours every night to wrap his presents upstairs (although I have bought and wrapped for everyone), only for us to then realise that we've bought dd the same cd or something!

Coming home from work on Christmas Eve, and thinking 'now I can really relax and enjoy'!

Wrapping up the children's stocking pressies in separate Santa paper, and making up the messages on the cards - 'For working hard on your Maths', 'For being kind to Nanny' etc. And then the potatoes are wrapped with 'For getting stroppy with your brother again!!)'.

I love Christmas! My dad loved it too. Miss him especially.

A real pleasure is knowing I married a man who will happily do all the Christmas cooking. Every year.

I was wrapping up pressies yesterday with that metalicy foil wrapping paper - the smell of it makes me think of christmas. Tommorrw they have 2 Riendeers coming to our town catherdral and they are turning on the lights - i can't wait!

I have got our Santa Key out - ds was worried about how he would get in without a chimney so i sourced a really old brass key with a picture of santa on it, its hung on a red velvet ribbon - were going to hang it from the front door on Christmas eve.

Making mince pies listening to Carols at Kings with a glass or two of sherry. It's the only time of the year that I drink sherry but it just seems right. I LOVE the whole Christmas cooking thing, but I don't have a large family, so not much stress. And the smell of cinnamon at Christmas, mmm.

Cracking nuts, a big tin of Roses and the Christmas Radio Times, some things can never change .
