Putting up the tree with DSs - accompanied by the sound of obligatory naff Christmas music .

Pressie wrapping. And this year, now they're both at school, I'm going to spend ages on it.

Waking DH up at 3am to have sex before the little buggers get up and start demanding presents.

Bucks fizz
Toffee pennies
Satsumas
Smell of pine needles and beeswax candles
Opening the 'adult' Xmas stocking DH puts together for me (not in front of the children, obviously).

Listening to the Christmas songs channel on Sky with a mulled wine and putting up the tree.
Also the long trip to the ferry on Christimas Eve, knwing I'll see my family on the other side. So exciting.

Putting the tree up with DS whilst pretending not to notice he's eating more chocolates than actually putting them on the tree.

Nice box of biscuits for xmas morning instead of breakfast with hot coffee - usually sneak down early and put the fire/coffee on.

Tons of xmas TV, chocolate and endless playing with all the new toys.

Shopping in the internet sales once DS in bed for bargains - no queues and no carrying

Normally it's drinking really good wine which has the extra benefit of numbing my irritation with the relatives.

Last year it was watching DS (1yo) opening his Christmas stocking, then at lunchtime watching conservative aunts face as he droppped his dummy into my wine glass and quick as a flash retrieved it and licked off the very good desert wine.

This year I'm paying for being a bad mother last year: I'll be 7months pregnant and will have to survive on 1 small glass of wine over the entire festive period (which said aunt will still criticise me for).

For the good parents/social services staff amongst you: DS hasn't been allowed near a glass of alcohol since.

Carols and mince pies with cream!

A long lie with a cup of tea, Terry Pratchett's latest and some cake/chocolate [heaven emoticon] Then a big lush bubbly bath in the afternoon and a glass of bubbly too. DH is providing me with this this year as last year I was too busy throwing up with MS. This year DD is 2 so it will be fascinating to see how she reacts now. DS 5 months will enjoy watching his big sis
