Here we go, brand spanking new thread.

If you could finish the old one off first, that would be great!

Mum said it's snowing down there. It's her birthday tomorrow, but theybdont need to go anywhere, so it shouldn't affect them.

No spots yet. He actually seems brighter than he has done, so not going to school has helped him. We will see what tomorrow brings, as he's 2 weeks into the 3 week incubation period now!

I hope your snot goes soon, Woolly!

It's been a headache free day here with a sprinkling of snow yay. I love the idea but will be having mine on Saturday as my friend and I are going to have our first monthly shopping trip. We have made a deal with ourselves that we will treat ourselves to lunch if we have bought a Christmas present to stash away.

MrsMad you are very kind Blush. My reception class teacher taught me to crochet a million years ago and my DM taught me to knit. I like Woolly Hugs as it gives me a project that I can complete and then pass on - otherwise we would be drowning in blankets and baby hats. Grin The colour combinations and patterns of the blankets on FB are amazing aren't they? Mine seem tame in comparison. I keep my eye out for inspiration.

I'm currently finishing a hat for my great-niece and then I've got wool all set for two Woolly Hugs projects. DD1 wants me to make a blanket as a housewarming present for two of her colleagues too so that should take me through the worst of the cold weather.

I don't know if I mentioned, DS1 has a Candy's Hug, the ones in honour of Zombie, someone nominated him. It's beautiful, very bright and cheerful. The person who nominated him crocheted a square with a 3D pink rose, which is in his blanket. Woolly Hugs are fantastic.

Morning!

Got to go soon, what with my train running earlier this week.

DS appears to be sleeping soundly, thankfully. I think he'll have to go back to school tomorrow if he has no spots. Maybe he's dodged it? Or maybe he's in the middle / at the end of a mild dose?!

Catch you all later!

Oh my god. I skated to the station. Yesterday's wet weather + overnight sprinkling of snow + minus temps = veritable ice rinks everywhere!

Then there were no trains, so I'm on a bus. I'll be late, but hey ho!

Evening!

What a day! 2 hours 40 minutes door to door this morning! 😱 Nightmare journey. Merseyrail had an utter mare today in fairness. Trains didn't start running until gone midday! And it could've been worse: there were people trapped in a train for two hours!

Anyway, I got home in one piece. DH came to find me on my walk home as the paths are still treacherous. I'm not convinced there was much gritting going on last night by the council. 😡

Mrs, did you have a nice day?

How is everyone? I hope you've all kept safe and warm.

Was it the weather affecting the trains Fluffy? Your journey sounds like a nightmare. How lovely of your DH to come out and meet you. My DH did the station runs today - he's a Star.

Report
NoWordForFluffy · 23/01/2019 21:12

Yeah, apparently it was thick ice covering the electrified rail meaning power couldn't get to the trains. It was all a bit of a disaster!

Good of your DH to do the station runs. The traffic from yours to there can be a proper pain in the arse!

Morning!

Notting, I second garden centres. Our Dobbies has a 70% off sale on them now. I bet it'll end soon though; I think I read it's 31 Jan actually.

I got a load of Gisela Graham Scandi ones from eBay too.

Mrs, your poor DH. You should complain about that, they need to be told.

My Friday today! Yay! And the trains are apparently running, so all is good. It rained last night and is above freezing, so no ice skating today either. Woooo!

Special, I hope your DS is better soon.

Wheelie, I hope you're OK. Flowers
