It is a real shame for the team because from a sporting and non-political stance, they were doing really well and had shown real courage and quality before this. Hearing the interviews from former players/coaches etc. made it clear how hard the players/teams have worked to try and improve US football...
But in terms of Trump, Fifa, and the whole situation? They got what they deserved and I'm glad it backfired and made them look like corrupt idiots.
I do wonder how much the controversy impacted the players? I guess we will have to see if any of them ever talk about it. But knowing all of this was going on, did it have an impact on them? Their performance was so much worse in this game compared to the last, it is easy to think it did...
