Working full time until 67 - is it possible or realistic?

I will not be able to take private pension until 67 yrs as I started paying in later in life.
Is it realistic to assume I can work full time
( state school teacher) ? Colleagues suggest I am being naive. I am in good health atm and not overweight or a smoker/drinker. However recent comments about how our working memory/body deteriates have got me doubting myself.Would welcome comments on personal experience or opinion?

My dad gave up full time teaching at 77, he absolutely loved it.

One of them actually naps at his desk!

...I'm sure people can think of any number of people they have worked with, of all ages, who are crap at their jobs.
The implication that once people get past a certain age, they become a drain, and are a waste of space is ageist and offensive... but I think you know that, and are enjoying winding people up.

@Whynotjustengageyourbrain now I have to take umbrage with you - whilst I admit myself I have lost energy post 60 , my H ( at 60) on the same business is the big money earner for the business we work for - his energy and contacts and dedication are second to none and similar is true of a guy who is 70 - very experienced, in every day , great networker. . Whereas the younger staff you mention are often jobsworths, don’t go the extra mile and are more interested in their social life or opportunity on how much skiving they can do ‘working from home’ - always uncontactable etc - it’s a very individual thing and has sod all to do with age.

Well, that will be most people eventually.

Yes. The UK is going backwards rather than forwards.
