Simple question what role/sector do you work in and what is your current salary. How much do you enjoy what you do.

Intrigued to see the pattern.

Lawyer - £66k. Second career, qualified 4 years ago at 42. Always been in low paid jobs, <£20k so I'm very happy with my salary at the moment.

Public sector - manage a large operational team - 68k. I really enjoy it, every day is different and whilst it can be pressured at times, it is rewarding and I do a good job. My team like working for me and others want to join, so that tells me I am good at my job.

Planning Consultant (town planning) for a private sector firm. Based in the southwest. 30 hours a week £45k. Hate it. But hate planning generally and dont know what else i could do. Fifteen years experience, chartered with a masters. I dont want a promotion because its so boring. Transferrable skills but how do I transfer them and what to???
