How long/what distance is your commute?

How long does it take you to get to work and how many miles is it?

My current commute is 10 miles takes about 20mins.

I am considering a job that's 27miles and with traffic may take about 50/55 mins.

I'm pretty sure an hour is quite normal but I'm not sure if it's too far?

30 miles, 1hr (less in school hols) by car (EV so cheap)

I only do it twice a week these days, but used to do it 5 days pre Covid.

It’s the maximum of what I will do though for life balance.

My current commute is a really short walk, but it used to be longer. I think 50 mins is fine. I wouldn't want one much longer than that myself

Used to commute to London, 15 mins car to station, 1 hrs 20 on train, 30 min walk to office. Left home at 06.00, got back after 21.00. Did it for years.

Previous job 14 miles door-to-door - 25 minutes if I didn't have to be in for 9am. An hour if I did.

New job - 30 miles. 50 minutes fastest. Very dependent on the M27 roadworks. Should also be feasible by train, about an hour, plus 10 minutes or so either end. Haven't tested it yet. Only have to go in once a week.

I moved jobs two years ago from a 2 mile commute to 21. It takes me about 40 minutes. However it's right in the heart of the Peak District and the drive is gorgeous. Winter can be tricky because of extreme weather. I do it four times a week. Apple Music is my friend. I try to listen to as much new music as I can and create playlists.
