IvetaKor · 15/08/2024 20:17

as mothers on maternity leave, I am not , my kids are older, nearly teens, considering coming back to work after maternity leave is over. Considering work from home, or not to go back to work, I always wanted to work form home, and now MLM offer yes or yes, or what do you think about MLM opportunity?

okey it is not only for mothers on maternity leave😊

The OP is trying one of the not-quite-as-clever-as-they-think marketing tricks of getting people interested in whatever rubbish she's selling by creating discussion. From this, she'll probably DM anyone who sounds interested and try to get them to also sell whatever snake oil she's peddling.

I don't think it's worked out as intended!

A friend works for one - UW energy to be precise. She posts about it a lot on facebook. She's made £28,000 over the last 3 years (apparently), and has said she's one of the top 2% income wise for 'partners'. That really isn't a livable income, and tells you that most earn far less. It would be interesting to know what her hourly rate really is.

I have someone who does the same. Says paid for her holiday. Seems a lot of nonsense to me

historyrepeatz · 16/08/2024 07:46

Someone really saw you coming.
So many people have tried this 'different' way of living and it's ended in tears but of course we are all just trying to keep you down and validate our boring little lives.

thank you everyone for the answers, I have not expected such a " heated discussion", that the most people are sill not prepared for something different. The model " go to school, have a job for 40 years and wait for your ridiculous pension" is still the best option for most of you or us.😊But I heard saying if you want to achieve something different than most people do, you need to do something different as well. 😊but also I realised that to be different is still odd these days. Have a nice rest of the evening😊

Delusional and gullible. Perfect fodder.

I've known lots of acquaintances get involved with different MLM over the years. Always the same women on Facebook chatting nonsense and playing the perfect family/holidays/lifestyle card - so obvious it's all a load of rubbish.

The same women seem to do several different schemes as well, moving on quickly and never mentioning the first snake oil bullshit again.

berksandbeyond · 16/08/2024 11:51

I don’t think your communication skills are anywhere near high enough to do the level of bullshit posts on social media that you’ll need to make any real money out of it

BobbyBiscuits · 16/08/2024 12:19

@IvetaKor I'm not interested in any pro MLM publications or 'authors'.
A load of snake oil salesmen taking advantage of the vulnerable. It's just preposterous.

Pashazade · 16/08/2024 12:29

Listen to The Dream. It might make you re-evaluate how viable an MLM actually is

Yes. Do something different. And by that I don't mean following in the downtrodden footsteps of the hundreds of thousands of other MLM-ers who have gone before, because that wouldn't be doing something different, it would be doing the same as all of them.

You need to find something original.

If you want to sell stuff, then find a gap in the market, source a product cheaply from the manufacturer, and sell it at a higher price. Become an entrepreneur.

blacksax · 16/08/2024 13:58

Oh and by the way, in the UK it isn't 'different than', it's 'different from'.

Princessfluffy · 16/08/2024 14:01

Good luck OP.
You won't make any money (and that's if you don't actually lose money), you'll waste a lot of time and alienate your friends and family. But if you want to ignore all the exposes about MLMs then knock yourself out, you are the boss of your own life and able to make your own mistakes.

memyselfi · 16/08/2024 16:53

You have a very odd turn of phrase OP.
I'm not sure you're an actual person .

HashtagShitShop · 16/08/2024 17:00

My friend has done three of them because if she's honest she doesn't want to work but can't stop spending and has thought each time she could get herself out of debt through them.

Each time she got into more debt and had to ebay the products she'd bought to sell to people (that didn't sell) cheaply to get room back in her house and lost cash every way possible.

Almost everyone avoids that mum or acquaintance you know who sells wax melts or perfume or make up on the side. Everyone side steps all the fake hun and "you should juice to lose weight, have a baby, cure your incurable illness" etc.

It never ends well and you lose friends and family over it with the constant push to hard sell.

God yeah. If its forever living or whatever it is (the aloe Vera one) they have websites with approved by head office facts (lies), statements and pictures for reps to use. It's creepy! My friend asked me to make a website for her an gave me the log on and it's horrendous. You have to run everything by them too to see whether or not it's approved before you can post it or let your stuff go live.

So stage managed and fake

theemmadilemma · 16/08/2024 17:05

And thus ends the demonstration of how they manage to keep going for years even though the products are mainly shit and they bleed the people selling them dry.

betterangels · 16/08/2024 17:12

Anyone who mentions Eric Worre in a positive manner has drunk the kool-aid already.

Fizbosshoes · 16/08/2024 17:24

I'm not sure if this is a serious thread (the wording is a bit strange) or someone trying to recruit for a MLM.....?

I would join all the posters who wouldn't touch with a bargepole. If something seems too good to be true, it generally is, but I'm not sure why the question is being asked. Because we're all being told we're wrong!

CurlewKate · 16/08/2024 18:11

@IvetaKor "really? I have met personally people who have MLM as the only income"

No, you haven't.

YouOKHun · 16/02/2025 20:20

I know this thread is old but I would be very interested to know @IvetaKor how you got on with signing up to MLM (if you did)? Or if you are in one how it's going?

Did you do further research on the business model or follow up on some of the comments above? Did you do any further research into the MLM "names" such as Eric W and Frazer B?

Frazer has an interesting back story; he didn't actually make money in MLM despite now coaching others to mimick the success he claims to have had. His money came from the bank of Mum and Dad as his father was involved in a pyramid scheme (the very iffy Shopping Genie). Eric W is a sinister fucker, but that's well documented. Would be interested if you are still positive about MLM?

That's less than 10k a year, which is shit all at the best of times and even less than shit all these days

BobbyBiscuits · 17/02/2025 00:37

Just coming back on to say it's all a load of bollocks. You will lose money. You will lose friends. And waste a hell of time so please don't join any MLM scheme.

Princessfluffy · 17/02/2025 11:42

The reward for being prepared to alienate your friends and family for financial gain is that you will also lose your own money.

You can call yourself a Boss Girl though and enjoy pretending to make money to other people while your new "work family" lie to you in the same way.

Truly, a lifestyle choice.
