Homeworkers on £50k+

CrystalViolet2023 · 23/06/2023 15:01

If you are a homeworker on £50k+ a year,
what do you do?

I’m looking for inspiration as I want to
leave my NHS manager role and jump into something that will allow home working.

I’ll be moving house soon into a more
rural area.

I think you’ll find it difficult to find something you can go into at that kind of level

I do senior recruitment for pharmaceuticals companies. Mostly wfh.

Husband does number crunching for a US based software company. 100% wfh (no office in UK)

TonightMatthewIamgoingtobecher · 23/06/2023 19:36

Civil service flexible working mostly from home look at grade 7 and grade 6 roles (not comparable to agenda for change)

CarolDunne · 23/06/2023 19:38

Irish non profit 100% wfh - basic administration stuff

60ke

Husband International travel company, something to do with statistics
100ke

hoophoophooray · 23/06/2023 19:50

I prefer the office but our project managers (construction) are on £65k a year and can be home based when not visiting site

Greycheck · 23/06/2023 19:53

Yes civil service Grade 7 upwards.

TokyoSushi · 23/06/2023 19:54

Operations Director (think one step up from an EA, so Senior admin really) Pharma related, £50K, entirely WFH.

NineToFiveish · 23/06/2023 19:56

I'm in learning and development, a lot of fully remote roles, but you need a few years of experience to get any 50k+ roles.

ZenNudist · 23/06/2023 19:57

Accountant but you won't start on £50k and you have to pass exams.

Motnight · 23/06/2023 19:58

NHS programme manager. Have to work in the office 1 day a week.

Grumpigal · 23/06/2023 20:03

Business change / project management for a not for profit.

Middle manager

jfshu · 23/06/2023 20:08

Civil service, although technically meant to go in once a week, I don't...obviously not contractually guaranteed and I could get called in.

bussteward · 23/06/2023 20:29

Copywriting, part-time, flexitime, fully remote where the rest of the business is forced to do hybrid, more or less do wot I want – but I have been doing it for yonks, can sub, proof, edit as well as write, and I’m shit hot.

caringcarer · 23/06/2023 20:30

DH is accountant but builds models and deals with risk.

CrystalViolet2023 · 23/06/2023 20:33

Thanks all! I’ll have a look around!

Look out for ICS or NHSE roles at your grade. They will mostly be wfh.

averythinline · 23/06/2023 20:41

public sector IT .... do ho jn sometimes but varies from council to council....but get experience.
.but my experience is not technical....i spend most of my time talking to people/change mgt/ communications..
depending on your nhs area there are software companies as well as IT related roles that are often crying out for people that have frontline experience... look at nhs digital? gds? or whoever supply the systems you use!

Homeywomey · 23/06/2023 20:44

Large tech company, product management - but I’ve worked my way up in the company over 15 years and am a bit of an anomaly - I think someone starting fresh from outside would probably have to be in the office a few days a week..

Alarae · 23/06/2023 20:46

Tax advisory team in a big firm. My team is spread out all across the South so even if I did go to the office none of my team are there anyway.

I try to go once every couple of weeks minimum though, just to show my face really.

EmmaDilemma5 · 23/06/2023 23:10

Have you looked into primary care networks? Salaries are good and lots of home working as you span across multiple practices.

Silvergoldandglitter · 23/06/2023 23:15

Accountant

ilovethecold · 23/06/2023 23:18

I am in learning and development and on £52k
I show my face in the office once a week so I can have a break from the kids.

Zhougzhoug · 24/06/2023 12:39

Lots of the charity sector is remote-friendly now, so charity management posts will often pay 50+. You can search to filter remote work on Charity Job, LinkedIn etc. Even if it says hybrid read the small print as they're often up for negotiating, or letting you go in once a month or something.

What are those?

I also have a strong background in quality management (as well as a NHS profession) so hoping I can do something with that.

DanceMonster · 24/06/2023 19:32

I work in financial services.
