Booked emergency hospital appointment

I booked a hospital appointment in the morning for 1pm (only slot). This clashed with a meeting that lasted 10 minutes. I told my boss immediately I won't be able to join. I then speak with him latter and goes on to say how weird it is that I had a hospital appointment last minute and he would like to get details of my hospital.

In last 2 years I have taken 1 sick day.

Is this crazy or am I going crazy!

The issue is that last minute hospital appointments just don't exist in reality - as an employer I would assume you had an interview

However, a last minute GP appointment, completely plausible

@DicklessWonder would love six figures.

Wonder why people are still commenting and hung up on the word hospital and GP.

How do we close thread? As comments now is not useful and would have guessed that's the purpose?

You can’t close the thread. If you want MNHQ to delete it you need to contact them.

What does this sentence mean- As comments now is not useful and would have guessed that's the purpose?

dchange · 09/12/2021 13:52

Thanks @Skyll will contact them.

Was looking at comments going back and forth on hospital and GP. Also someone referenced I earn six figures and a senior consultant and can't believe I don't get the basic difference.

But the sentence “ As comments now is not useful and would have guessed that's the purpose?” Doesn’t make sense?

Skyll · 09/12/2021 14:06

You said on another post you’re a senior consultant and earn six figures. That is what they are referencing. They are, I think, surprised that you can’t grasp the difference between a GP appointment and a hospital appointment at that level of role and salary.

You can't close a thread, you can ask Mumsnet to delete it but I dont see what grounds you would have for that apart from you dont like the comments you have received.

Last-minute hospital appointments do exist in reality - I have had them - If by last-minute you mean you phone up in the morning and you get an appointment that afternoon. Or the next day too.
