Boss setting up team meetings for times that I'm not available

What to do about it, that's the question. My boss arranges all team meetings for 4.30 or 5pm, or for days that I'm not working. Not intentional on my boss' part, I don't think (boss is in the US, the team are in the UK). I have to leave at 4.30 to pick up my child from the childminders, meaning I can't make the meetings. I've explained the situation and asked if they be rescheduled but my boss says it's not possible. Anyone else been in this situation? How did you resolve it?

Thanks sunsandrainbows, you have nailed it. The work I've been assigned doesn't help my boss achieve her immediate goals, and I'm low on her list of priorities. In fact the whole team is. My role is important and very much needed; I'm thinking I should report to someone else.

How long are these team meetings that happen twice every week, with presentations? My mind is boggling. But anyway ... Are there occasions when you could manage to stay for part of the meeting (maybe getting half an hour back another time), and could the agenda be tweaked to ensure your part gets covered early?

'x is important for this quarter's results; can we cover it first as I want to be sure XYZ gets discussed. We need your input before the team makes a decision ...'

Have you tried suggesting this to your boss? Show interest & flexibility but meets your time constraints.

Your DC will grow older and will hopefully not always be so tired. How about suggesting you vary your hours, so that you can finish at 5pm or whatever on team meeting days, and finish earlier on the other 3 days?

Leaving at 5pm is no more use tO OP than leaving at 7pm, as I understand it. Her dh will still have to pick up if that happrnsz.
