ring them up and ask. Despite the bad press they have always been very helpful to me

CountessDracula · 12/01/2006 17:34

eh? Do they pay childcare?

podkin · 12/01/2006 17:41

god it's all so complicated ! I have just been on their website and its double dutch. I reckon speaking to someone there would help.

Don't think you have to be a single parent.

Caligula · 12/01/2006 18:25

You have to be on a very low income for them to pay 70% and it's going up to 80% in April. (Woohoo!)

Their site is shit, but the helpline is excellent. The other thing is to ring up the local jobcentre and ask them to do a calculation for you - they're always much more accurate than the website.

longwaytogo · 12/01/2006 18:31

If i'ts any help we were earning about £16,000 both working and they paid 70% childcare for us 2 days a week 2 babies.

megandsoph · 14/01/2006 11:21

lol never been called mega before

The question was for you BL. I was wonedring if yourself and your partner had earnt 7550k annually this year? and if so have you been using childcare?

But I have read the thread again now and I'm guessing you haven't.

The childcare tax credits are just as confusing as the other TC's.

when I was earning 12kPA last year I didn't get the full 70% childcare TC's but lw2g say's she got the 70% when her family was on 16k PA so I don't know

have you been on the website?? they can tell you on there

vitomum · 14/01/2006 12:11

there is a calculator on the website which if you put in various details it will tell you what you will get. But be warned i did this loads of times and could not understand why i got a different amount each time. Also, i did not know if the amount was weekly, monthly, yearly etc. i eventually phoned up and the amount they quote you is what you will get between NOW and and the end of the tax year (april). How was i supposed to know that FFS. Other than that it was v easy to use.

megandsoph · 14/01/2006 12:20

Agree about the website it's crap!!

BL give them a call and enquire.
