as if they will not pay 70% of childcare cost (i have 1 DD) its not worth me going back to work as for me to stay at home its only £3,000pa less than going back to work !

oops, just tried and the external link is not longer available - i need to find the new address. at least that's pointed that out for me!

You could try using the calculator at: EntitledTo

It may help give you an idea of what you may be able to claim.

Just found some example tables at JustTax
These are not precise but may be a handy guide.

With a family income of 20,000 with one child, using approved childcare, both parents working 30 hours+, it looks as though you may get around £96 per week towards childcare cost. At least, that's how it looks to me... probably best if you visit the link above and see for yourself - why is it so confusing?

note to anyone who looks, really, dont bother with the online calculator as it spews out rubbish. ive had bad experiences with the inland revenue too, i would much rather recommend the jobcentre.

you guys i don't get it!i get child tax credit so what?this is like 20pounds a weeks you think this is enough?i am at home looking after my baby.my husband earns 17000 before tax.to get the working tax credit your joint income needs to be 15000 annualy.stupid people why do you send your child to nursery for example?to go to work and earn money right?but in this case i will have a salary as well so how can we both earn only 15000?where i live the nursery is 1000 pounds monthly.so i have to work to pay the nursery.this country is so f...d up.sorry
