Woolly Hugs. A Blanket for lovely Notapizzaeater whose wonderful DH has sadly died.

I'm afraid we bring very sad news. Notapizzaeater’s wonderful husband died earlier this year, he had been suffering from cancer. Such devastating news, we are so sorry that life has been so cruel. Cancer is such a vicious, indiscriminate illness. Our love and thoughts are with her, their son and their family. There is no separate thread, notapizzaeater has been posting in the amazingly supportive thread ‘Still the storm” in the topic Life-limiting illness. Love and strength to everyone over there.

We have offered to make notapizzaeater a blanket to show our love and support and to offer what comfort we can, and we are delighted to say she has accepted.

So we are asking for help once again

No particular themes, except sea, beach and nature themes

Important crafting info
Squares to be six inches, using 4mm needles or hook. Please knot off VERY carefully when finishing or changing colour and sew your ends in, thank you! No blocking please, makes it much easier to join squares.

Simple or complex, made by beginner or expert, we genuinely welcome them all. It really is the love and thought that counts.

When posting, it will be the Teddington address, please make sure you add your name and who the squares are for, and if you would like to include a card for notapizzaeater and her family, please do, we will pass it on.

I am on a lengthy jury service and would really appreciate it folk could wait until June 1st to post. Otherwise DH tends to just pile things up in random places, it would be much safer to hang back!

Last posting for this project is July 1st.

Squares ready to be posted. The colours haven't photographed well, the darker blue looks almost indigo but it's not.

just finished these two squares, moss green & denim blue, sitting outside of WHHQ!

meant to do it last night but instead spent almost 3.5 hours in A&E with DS4.
He banged his hand against a door frame and got boxer's fracture across 3 fingers on left hand.

I only took him because his pinky finger was quite swollen and painful so wanted to have it checked. the other two didn't hurt so very shocking diagnosis.
and he will need another x-ray by Friday to decide if he needs an op.
8 weeks in plaster cast...he's so annoyed with himself.

anyhoo, sorry about venting. I'm drained x

definitely not crochet weather but now that my squares are done I'm trying to quickly finish a Little Hug before getting back to sewing.

Thanks @ToadyPoady I enjoyed making them. Annoyed that they’re not the same size but I’m sure a construction ninja will sort that out.
