“Kellie-Jay Keen has been charged under s.127 of the Communications Act 2003 over posts made between 23 and 25 June.

As ex-police, here's how it works:
• No victim needed
• No intent needed
• The offence is complete once the message is sent if a court finds it 'grossly offensive' (DPP v Collins [2006] UKHL 40)

That's a very low bar for a criminal charge over words.

But Chambers v DPP [2012] EWHC 2157 set a high bar for these cases, and Article 10 protects speech that offends, shocks or disturbs. A district judge decides on 4th December.

One to watch.”

Not when they veer into racism they're not.

Yes even then. Racism isn't actually illegal you know.

Also speaking out about Islam isn't racism as Islam isn't a race. So there's that.

There's no evidence that men don't routinely make women into kebabs? Where are these kebabs then? Do the food standards agency not have anything to say about it?

Hmmm. If, for example, I had killed and chopped up my violent ex and made him into burgers which I then ate myself and fed to my friends - where exactly does the FSA come into it?
How would they even know about it unless I was found out by the police and charged? Not sure even then, that they would have any jurisdiction assuming my friends were aware of what they were eating and didn't object.

No one has said these men were SELLING these kebabs to people who were unaware of their provenance.

Yes, Islam is practiced predominantly by people who aren't white but if ít was practiced mainly by whites it would be massively criticised all the time by the same people who say we can't criticise it. So THEY are the racists at there treating different races differently.

Hedgehogforshort · Yesterday 18:56

She is a woman’s rights campaigner, for sure. Are her attacks on Islam are about women’s rights, and also, cousin marraige.

Is the way she states things without ambiguity a good thing? Yes for me.

Do i like what she says?, or the way that she says? Quite often not.

Does she contribute to fuelling racism?, potentially.

Should she be able to say what she says in the way she says it without fear of prosecution? Absolutely.

that is my thought process anyway

Was it for her claims that Asian men were murdering white girls and using them for kebab meat? Because none of this surprises me. It's the right wing grift moving on from transphobia to racism because the magic money tree is drying up.

Did she use Charlene Downes to stir up hatred? How disgusting. I find posey a hate filled individual but using a presumably dead and still missing child to fuel hate is just unfathomable.

No she did not, question answered.

In a court of law, the onus is on the prosecution to prove the charges, not vice versa.

But she's not prosecuting anyone, she's saying stuff on social media. There is no onus for anyone to have to prove beyond reasonable doubt their SM posts are true, and the police can't arrest you for failing to meet that high bar.

Wrong. Racism and racist discrimination is illegal in England and Wales under both criminal and civil law.

See: Public Order Act 1986, Crime and Disorder Act 1998, Equalities Act 2010.

I can't believe we're handwaving away racism here.

This is a woman who has reposted content calling white supremacism "white excellence" and said how interesting it is.

She said it's "perfect" that some people are campaigning for Muslims to be banned from public office.

She took offence at a carrier bag because it had black ballerinas and black nutcracker toys on it.

She's an out and out racist.

Oh so we've gone from 'It never happened' to 'I know the name of who it was'.

How odd.

Most of what she said there is perfectly reasonable. There are concerns about some Muslims in public office as there is the concept of the ummah in Islam so some (not all as doesn't include those that have embraced a more Western way of thinking) are more concerned about Muslims and "Muslim" issues such as Palestine which has nothing to do with UK issues and the welfare of British people of all races which they should be concentrating on. Societies influenced by Christianity have more individualistic but equality based concepts. Re the bag would you say people in Africa were reasonable to complain about only white people being depicted on their carrier bags? Not sure what she said about white supremacy so can't comment.

None of what you've mentioned is racism, and she's not been charged with racism, she's been charged with being 'grossly offensive', apparently for tweets relating to a religion.

I don’t understand what you mean by that, two men went to prison for her murder after it was believed they used her for kebab meat and ground her bones into tile grout. The conviction was overturned and the men paid for damages. At least one of the men still owned a take away last time I heard.
But Charlene deserves more than her story being used to stir up division. That poor girl was failed her whole life.

Perhaps she can join forces with her mate Tommy Robinson for a good old grift.

Yep. I am sure she will "fundraise" for her defence.

BeLemonMoose · Yesterday 19:37

@Cascadia Posie parkers supporters defend the most awful racism from her claiming it's not racism. Either they say that simply because they want to defend her, or they are racist too,

Given the amount of outright racist stuff she posts I can't say I'm shocked. Literally just today she posted about how the Tesco Christmas carrier bags don't have enough white people on them FGS.

It's hard to take certain people seriously if they are upset over the skin colour of cartoon Nutcracker men on a Tesco shopping bag.

One of her followers replies "well at least there's a white one" to which Kelly replies "it's a lot darker in real life, mid-brown".

Talk about first world problems.

That's not how things work though, is it? If someone makes a claim and yet has no evidence to even suggest that it's happening then it is not on everyone else sane to prove a negative. Though who knows on here, it does rather depends on the individual's beliefs and looks about whether they are deserving of being presumed innocent until proven guilty.

At least four of the girls raped by the Pakistani Asian grooming gangs were murdered by them - Laura Wilson 17, raped from the age of 12 by Ashtiaq Asghar, was stabbed and drowned by him in 2010. Lucy Lowe the 16 year old also raped (I don't use the word groomed, it is an insult to the victims) by Azhar Ali Mahmood, who was burned alive with her mother, disabled sister and unborn child in the family home. Victoria Agoglia, 15 years old, drugged, raped and given a fatal dose of heroin. Charlene Downes, 14 years old, groomed raped since the age of 12 by a Pakistani gang, her body never found.
One last point, before you slither off, Charlene Downes body was CUT UP AND MIXED INTO KEBABS.
People like you have to stop calling people "racist" when they tell the truth and you have to stop defending people who behave in a depraved way.

Because as pointed out in a previous tweet, Islam is a religion, it does not encompass a one race, therefore criticism of it is not racist.
She's exercising her right to freedom of expression, nothing, especially that which has the power to influence the lives of everyone in a country, can be above criticism.

The whole point of Human Rights after the WW2, was to protect the population from being punished for criticising the government or any organisation that's promoted by a government.

For the grift?

I can’t imagine that many “TERFs” (for want of a better word) are making much money out of this racket, surely?

Now that you mention it where is Marion Millar and what is she doing with the tens of thousands of pounds worth of donations she got for that court case that never happened? One day without warning she deactivated all her social media and just disappeared.

You heard it here folks, rebranding white supremacism to "white excellence" is absolutely A-OK, not racist at all. Neither is banning Muslims from public office.

You are wrong about racism being a crime, inciting racial hatred is a crime and racism can be an aggravating factor for other crimes.

The equality act - broadly - prohibits discrimination on the basis of race.

Do you need me to repeat it again, criticising Islam is not racist, and she's not been charged with racism, your attempt to deflect is not working. Character assassination is the 'go to' tactic of those that have no argument.
She's being charged with 'grossly offensive', Who Decides? what is 'grossly offensive', is it you?
I thought the shite filled, maggot brained women who proposed the Zionism is Racist motion at the Green's Party Conference was the one Who Decides, are you challenging her for the job, or are you just one of the 1022.
