Australian womens rights activists recieve death threats in the lead up to a Sydney Womens rights rally

Sal Grover and Kirralee Smith, both recently fined ($100k and $95k) for misgendering men imposing on womens spaces, have recieved death threats from a range of transactivist organisations. Sal Grover, a single Mum, has pulled out. I don't blame her one bit. It is sickening that women exercising free speech in this country are subject to this bull sh*t. Kirralee has decided to proceed and both are Warriors. Let Women Speak events in Australia require (and tbf, recieve) considerable police presence in order to defend these (usually middle-aged) women from the "be kind" crowd, who have in the past been violent and are always abusive and disruptive. What Government boasts about having sex-parity with the party, and yet sides with Men who behave like this towards women asking for their rights? All of them, actually. In Australia our sex discrimination act was altered beneath the radar to remove the definition of women and men, and elevate gender identity, meaning that a man who identifies as a woman is for all purposes, a woman in law. This is what Sal and Kirralee are fighting for: a repeal of the changes. Our Prime Minister and his tribe of handmaidens call this a culture war. It is in fact a war on womanhood.

Yes, the lack of clarification has been noted.

If we could get a sizeable number of people to come out and commit to only voting for parties that refuse gender ideology, then we would get this all fixed tomorrow. Labour sticks with this policy because they know its doesn't cost them a lot of votes. Being in favour of putting men into women's spaces should cost them elections.

There needs to be enough numbers in both houses to change the Sex Discrimination Act to protect women, instead of it prioritising men.

It has. You just aren't capable of understanding or accepting it.

Utter nonsense.

Special exemptions/exceptions to discriminate in favour of natal women still exist in Australian law for sports, prisons, refuges, hospitals & any other areas that require differential treatment or targeted measures for women primarily on the grounds of achieving substantive equality (affirmative action), protecting health, safety, and welfare, and addressing historical disadvantage or specific physiological needs. Networking apps understandably (for anyone with a working brain) aren't considered to meet this standard.

And stop spreading disinformation. Grover was fined for banning a trans woman on a media app & Smith for vilification of a trans person not misgendering.

Edited

This is absolute nonsense (not what I’d like to write, but I can’t think of a polite word for bullshit).

Waitwhat23 · Today 06:28

So the be kinders are sticking by the 'case by case risk assessment is completely sufficient and if we get it wrong, then that's just too bad for the women!' line for placing males into the female prison estate?

You'd think they'd look at the Scottish Government's humilitating climbdown...

But no, the feelings of those poor wee male offenders must be protected at all costs!

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · Today 06:34

Horrified to hear that woman campaigning for women's rights are subject to such violent, unhinged harassment.
Good on those who stay the course regardless, I hope they stay safe and are given the opportunity to state their case.
Shame on Aus for being such a sess pool of reality rejecting, science denying, throw backs. 😱

It has. You just aren't capable of understanding or accepting it.

And you aren’t capable of accepting that the law prioritises men who say they’re women. Because if it didn’t, there wouldn’t be men in women’s sports and prisons where you’d think the exemptions should be applied. You haven’t explained why the exemptions haven’t been applied. Which means you think they shouldn’t be, I assume.

Reading his posts I'd suggest he believes men can change sex and women should just accept that 🙄

Again you don't understand anti discrimination law. Exceptions exist in all categories (race, disability, sexual orientation etc) that relies on a disadvantage for example indigenous people getting a benefit that non indigenous don't because they are at a disadvantage in some areas….but not all. But this isn't automatic because exceptions depend on the individual circumstances & whether in those circumstances there is a disadvantage that meets the exceptions criteria. In other words there is no entitlement just because of indigenous heritage but whether a disadvantage can be proven in the particular circumstances.

Now see if you can extend yourself to understanding how this applies to sex.

And people wonder why women don't want these unhinged, violent men who feel so comfortable issuing threats towards women in spaces where women are vulnerable/undressed/in women only spaces...

It's such a mystery.

So you think women are advantaged by having sport and there’s no disadvantage to letting men into it? And the same with prisons?

Okay. Very revealing.

There needs to be enough numbers in both houses to change the Sex Discrimination Act to protect women, instead of it prioritising men.

Politicians care most about winning elections. If labour (or indeed any other party) knew that people were so angry about their policy of allowing men into women's spaces that it would cost them an election, they would get rid of the policy in a heartbeat.

The reason that labour is still pushing gender ideology is because, while most Australians may not agree with it, they just don't care enough about it to not vote for labour. Labour doesn't lose many votes for supporting gender ideology. If we want to get this fixed, we need to convince a large percentage of the population that this is a top priority issue and that they should not vote for any party who says it is ok to let men into women's spaces. Only then will things change.

Um, if Australians need 'convincing' of something that is supposed to be a 'major problem' maybe there is no problem…to them? Bottom line, the reason why they don't care is trans people aren't impactful on people's everyday lives probably because they barely exist.

Do you hear yourself?

Well domestic violence doesn't impact the lives of most Australians but that doesn't mean it isn't a major problem. A problem doesn't have to affect the majority of people to be a problem.

OMG. No. That's clearly not what's been said & I don't think any further explanation can help you so we will leave it at that.

So explain it then. In your example you gave, you can replace “indigenous” with “women” and disadvantage and benefit.

Women are disadvantaged without single sex sport and prisons. Women benefit from single sex sport and prisons. If men are allowed in women’s sport and prisons they are again disadvantaged. Australia allows men in women’s sport and prisons, ergo it doesn’t believe the exemptions apply, ergo it prioritises the rights of these men over the rights of women they disadvantage.

The only way you don’t agree is if you believe there is no disadvantage to men being in women’s sports and prisons, like Australia.

False equivalence.
The difference being a woman dying at the hands of her partner once a week is a major problem for Australians that's why there are already laws & government initiatives in place to prevent it that are unopposed & supported by the Australian public. You act as if Australians could do more & don't because they aren't interested when that is not the case.

Congratulations to Hansel there, who has successfully derailed an important thread about women receiving death threats.

The situation in Australia is appalling and those who excuse this kind of behaviour towards women should be arrested for terrorism, because that is what this is.

I hope there will be no further boring derailment. It’s obvious why this thread has been chosen.

As repeated already, because it depends on the individual circumstances. Your'e problem is you are generalising that women are always disadvantaged in every sporting & prison situation but that is not necessarily the case.

A six year old playing in a female non contact sports team like basket ball is not at the same safety risk or physical disadvantage as a 16 year old.

Maybe the 'moral of the tale' is don't lie to begin with & no one will have to 'derail' by correcting said lies particularly when they refuse to acknowledge them.

@Gretel346 “Nope. She broke a very clear law AND she knew it but fought it to fund raise.”

Sal Grover told the truth. Tickle is a man and he didn’t belong in a woman’s only space.

And there we go, there’s the answer. As predicted, you think there are times when men in women’s sport, changing rooms and prisons doesn’t disadvantage women. You think it’s fine sometimes. You think it’s fine to prioritise men over women sometimes. So as per the post you originally applied to, you think it’s fine for men to be prioritised over women. That you’ve now qualified it to sometimes, isn’t any better, you know.
