AidaP is scraping Mumsnet threads, and grading them

BambooLampshade · 28/04/2026 21:15

Honestly, this man is obsessed. He has now created a program to scrape and grade Mumsnet threads from this board.

What is this?

Oh yes, I have downloaded most of mumsnet and we will be doing embeddings of the content to try to understand how does the rot and hate builds and spreads.

I never had so much hate and delusion on my hard drive before 😅

That's been asked on the Site Feedback thread but no response yet.

Needmoresleep · 29/04/2026 12:00

Will he employ a terf-o-meter for posters. I don't think I will make top ten, but would hope to be ranked.

Prize would have to be suitable. Swim in the Hampstead Ponds, a Girl Guide Jamboree, or a WI prize winning cake?

None of which has happened, of course.

I've engaged with the thread, asking legitimate questions and making legitimate points. All the while the subject of unwarranted nuisance attacks by The Usual Suspects.

As I've said from the beginning; I'm very, very interested to learn more about this AidaP and your thoughts. I mean, it's not like this account is being used as a scraping marker for a JS bot or anything. 🙄

If you want to learn more about him go on his blue sky thing and interact with him directly. I think you'll find you have more in common with him than you do with any of the women on here.

As for my thoughts on a man who scrapes the feminism board of Mumsnet... What a bloody weirdo he must be.

Further to this, I've just taken an - admittedly quick - glance over GDPR and I can't see anything that could be reliably used to cause scrapers to Cease and Desist

Possibly someone with superior knowledge will be able to.

Like your average 10 year old

If you want to learn more about AidaP then all you have to do is click on the links to his Bluesky posts which I considerately supplied.

You will find plenty of links back to Mumsnet on there, by the way, and also the aforesaid "splintery rolling pin" post.

And you've told plenty of people on this thread to "try to stay on topic", pet. We can actually read your posts, poppet.

As others have said, you can check his Bluesky. It’s probably not worth copy and pasting his stuff to create a thread though. Which is a win for us, and saves you the embarrassment of having to explain things you don’t understand.

The reason I posted this thread yesterday was that I was viscerally shocked by what he is doing.

It brought up my "female fear of men" reaction - like being stalked. He's not just lurking on a site for women that he's been banned from, he's rating and assessing us, and boasting about it.

Just horrible, and I thought that other women should know about how this man is behaving. We need to know that we're being monitored like that.

He's not the manssiah! He's a very naughty boy.

Does it really matter what he's doing in isolation on another part of the internet?

I understand your immediate, pathological fear - it's justifiable - but what difference does his behaviour make?

Many of the Usual Suspects on this thread have gone out of their way to present an image they are fundamentally unconcerned by his activities, which if it were wholly true would be great, so I can't see the issue.

Ultimately, there's nothing we can do about it. Let him make his silly little lists, say I; it makes zero difference here.

You keep talking about "Usual Suspects" on this thread.
You're not new to this board, are you?

And please don't bother telling me what I should, and should not, be concerned about.

Generally men find it difficult to understand why women feel discomfort in situations in which they, as men, wouldn't. Old Haze is no different.

You're getting confused again.

I did not tell you what to be concerned about; I literally posted a comment telling you your concern was understandable and justified.

That same comment, the one you failed to read, also asked whether it really mattered what he was doing and, regardless, laid out that there's not much we can do about it.

Again, did you miss the bit where I literally told you your concern was understandable and justified?

Heggettypeg · 28/04/2026 21:29

Is this actually legal, I wonder?

It's not.

HazelLemur · 29/04/2026 12:39

RedToothBrush · 29/04/2026 12:37

It's not.

Can you reference the actual law that says so, please? I don't mean MN's terms and conditions - they are legally meaningless in cases like this - but the actual laws that forbid AidaP doing what she's doing.

I know you have a vague sense it shouldn't be legal, but that means nothing in law, alas.

Well of course you wouldn’t understand would you…. It’s a female thing. You know, the whole fear of men stalking, harassing and threatening them. What’s that saying, women fear men will kill them, men fear women will laugh at them.

You are, not for the first time, as self-contradictory as you are confused.

The post you quote literally says I understand and the feelings were justifiable.

If multiple people are getting confused, multiple times, with your posts then maybe, just maybe, you are the problem here. A little self reflection might be a good thing before posting again.

My posts are abundantly clear to anyone with a basic level of English.

The deliberate misinterpretation of some of them by some of the Usual Suspects is as obvious as it is amusing.

In fact, I'm so confident that I have the measure of many here that I can almost predict word for word some of the posts - including yours - that will come next...

Website Terms and Conditions are covered by contract law.

Website Terms and Conditions are covered by contract law.

I'm not convinced - but happy to be proven wrong - that that's the case.

But then there's a tricky situation here, isn't there? This AidaP is apparently no longer an account holder here, so is not logging in and making uncomfortable posts.
They are, by their own admission, scraping the site - a public site - with web-tools to feed into their own bizarre little project.

Unwelcome, totally; but I don't think illegal.

The point isn't to defend their action - only a lamentable halfwit would think that - but to illustrate that I don't think there is any actual, real recourse in law to deal with this.
