Antipsychotics and hypersexuality

I’m in a group for family and friends of people with serious mental illnesses, and something that has come up repeatedly is the issue of hypersexuality, and in particular transgender behaviour while on some antipsychotic drugs.
I was following a thread in which someone was worried about a family member cross dressing and at least seven other people mentioned instances where loved ones, all male incidentally, had started cross dressing after taking these drugs. They spoke of aggression and entitlement too, and it sounded very familiar. I wonder what percentage of trans identified males are on such drugs?

Psychosis also causes hypersexuality. It's one of the main indicators. So it could be a bit chicken and egg.

It’s not just antipsychotics. Dopamine agonists (used to treat Parkinson’s, Restless Legs and Prolactinoma) also have the same terrifying side effects.

There was a thread on this last year - maybe of some interest to this thread?

There's a reporter in the BBC who seems to be pursuing the dopamine problem. A MN poster has spoken to him iirc. It's in the thread previously linked. I wonder if he'd be interested in this?

I heard a piece on this on Radio 4s You and Yours programme a few weeks ago. I couldn't find a link to that feature but this seems to be the journalist who is looking into this issue.

Having first hand experience of dealing with people having a psychotic episode, I believe the benefits far outweigh the risks.
