Ideas please to get a response from John Lewis to my complaint.

In January, I was horrified to discover at the end of a bra fitting that John Lewis now have unisex changing rooms.

I complained at the time. They took a month to reply to my complaint, and even then JLs response didn't address what I'd raised.

I escalated my complaint mid March. Still no response as of today.

Any suggestions as to what to do next?

I'm thinking a daily X/insta reminder that they haven't replied? However, when I did that for the initial complaint, I was ignored or had a "we've passed your concerns onto the store involved".

The only other think I could think of was an actual letter sent via recorded delivery.

What would you do? This has bothered me too much to let it drop.

To all those who say that men’s and women’s clothes are on separate floors - it’s men who will be trying on women’s clothes and masturbating in the women’s changing cubicles.

@Nevershoppingagaininjohnlewis JL said they can't do bra fittings behind locked doors for the safety of their partners conducting the fitting. I completely understand that.

Yet that is exactly what my M&S does. I do wish these firms would get their bloody safeguarding act together.

I wrote a letter to Jason Tarry, CEO, and sent it recorded delivery. I had a reply via email in a few days from a (the?) Director Relations Case Manager.

She apologised for the poor email response. She contacted the store manager and was given the details of another similar complaint, not mine. Which was good to hear that I wasn't the first to complain about men in the women's changing rooms.

After correcting her about my visit, she investigated further. The bra fittings are now taking place in a different area away from the main changing rooms. They've passed my concerns to the relevant team for review around lack of signage informing customers who is allowed into the changing rooms. Who knows if this will lead to change? All I know is that I should not have had my autonomy taken away from me to make an informed decision about where I undress with men the other side of a curtain.

I wish signage would now be put in the changing rooms... But I don't think it will, as I'm too cynical about this stuff. The review will conclude women don't need to know this information, I'm sure.

Large companies will monitor that and react quickly.

There’s also an opportunity here for you to learn, very few areas actually require signage - and going forward if this is a topic that’s important to you and there isn’t conclusive signage then you’ll need to AJs rather than assume.

Coming to this late. But well done @Nevershoppingagaininjohnlewis .
If they don't put up clear signage — and let's fact it, none of us will be holding our breaths on that — why not write a letter to your local newspaper or see if you can upload something to local news platforms as a citizen journalist.
As @MsGreying points out, large corporations do (sometimes) think about their reputation.
I was recently asked to complete feedback after registering on the John Lewis app (in my defence, it was for a MoB hat). I mentioned the vile state of the mixed loos near their rooftop terrace, and the smell of male urine in the loos on the next level down which were supposedly just for women.
JL, M&S and the rest of them need a constant drip feed of comments and complaints.
