New support group for mothers of trans ID children

There is going to be an in-person support group on 28th February in Brighton.

I know some mums are going through hell with their teenagers or adult children and this is a safe space to express concerns about medical pathways etc and get support from others going through the same thing.

Please share with any mums going through this who are in need of support.

Yes of course, thank you. He may know some mothers who would benefit. It’s hard to spread the word via social media other than MN as it just attracts a huge TRA pile on.

The massive problem we have, just like in my own efforts, is getting word out to the majority who agree, without triggering the terrorists. I’ve honestly not got a solution but I think in this meet-up needs a guard of some kind at the door…. And that’s a terrible inditement.

I'm afraid TRA post modern and post liberal appropriating of language and setting the rules on linguistics mean that women might bring a knife to a gunfight, but then find their knife is one made of paper or rubber.
The only place where language rules and gender critical reality wins, is in court.
Look at the SCOTUS discussion on Title IX...the genderwang sent their best legal representatives in the form of ACLU.
And what happened when the judges asked them simple Qs, like define men and women.
They couldn't do it, or more accurately, they refused to do it, retreating to obfuscation and fantastical statements.
My favourite, and one for the ages, being that men have an advantage in sport, but men can't be defined.
There was nowhere else to go in the courtroom, the TRA warp hit the implacable wall of reality.
Unfortunately in the rest of society, there is no similar demands for clarity and common sense, just a retreat to superstition and childish demands, allowed to dominate by the cowards in charge.
Meaning a group of parents meeting to discuss issues close to their heart are at risk of sabotage, and those in positions of power to help them either egg it on, or look the other way.

In what way is this post relevant to @IamSarah or Sisters Heal's direct action efforts to provide single sex trauma support or an environment for questioning parents to come together?

On re-reading, I think you're right, lol.
Just my final paragraph might be relevant.

Yep, with the sexism and ageism on show. Surprise surprise.

They're talking about taking extra precautions as though they're the ones in danger. Like some worried parents are going to attack and harm any trans person they happen to see that day.

Pretty sure it's considerably more likely to be a bunch of TRA protesters doing the threats and violence.

I just wanted to say thanks to the organisers for setting up this event and I hope it goes well with no disruption. We've been on this journey for the past 5 years. It's a really tough ride and has nearly destroyed us as parents and our marriage too. Thanks for reaching out to support others whose world is currently being turned upside down by this evil.

I was thinking of all the support groups I know, and what people go there for, and gender issues is the one with the most heightened tension and policed language I think. Parents or relatives (or the person themselves) with other diagnoses can usually go to a support group which is a safe space where all the issues and feelings can be aired in a nice understanding environment with biscuits. Sadness, frustration, tiredness, anger, they’re all normal things for people to experience, but negative emotions are quite policed in this area.

I really hope your meeting goes well @IamSarah and it becomes a regular place for family support.

Sharing online at your discretion and in trusted WhatsApp groups etc would be really appreciated. Thank you

I had a think about this and so have taken a cautious approach.

So only shared to an old fashioned mailing list group (cant even remember what you call them). ie only goes to subscribers and cant be viewed on line.

to let everyone know I did manage to get old of the organisers and they are aware of the reddit issues etc.
