the Super Trouper lights are gonna find me
the Super Trouper lights are gonna blind me

When I can see the lyrics written out the answer is clear, but I’m often not good at picking things out if I only hear them.

Card done and put through next door. She has a stupidly tiny letterbox, so I had to bend the card in two to fit it through.

EdithStourton · 23/12/2025 12:19

I'd forgotten Milngavie.
Love the Victoria Wood comment.

You sent a card, so you are the Bigger Person and the card is all bent because they have a Smaller Letterbox - sounds like the perfect outcome😁

Ah you see, I heard a comma, so it I thought it was
Like a super trouper, lights are gonna find me..

D'you think they'd run us out of Pedantry Corner for discussing Abba lyrics? Lowering the tone?🤔

I used to hate Abba with a great and passionate hatred when I was young - so uncool, so straight, so polyester-clad. Then I grew up😄

Number two offspring thanks you for contributing something cool he can add to his next drama exam!

Oddly, most of my misheard lyrics are food related. Like

I am a rock, I am an onion

or even

Last night I dreamt of some bagels

Abba are calling from Tesco.

Now, shall I do a Christmas card for my NDN? She was really chummy when she bought the house, but when I gently suggested she might like to ask her contractors to stick to permitted hours she now refuses to speak to me. We've put up with 8 months of builders racketting, dust, muck, damage etc. She wasn't here for the first 6 months.
But I could be the bigger person...
Yes or no?

In your shoes I'd have gone a bit passive aggressive and wished them a peaceful New Year.

I think the Super Troopers were in the video.

Had to have three biopsies. My boobs are like sieves. The annoying thing is I'm not allowed to lift anything for at least 24 hrs (possibly 48) and there's still stuff in the house that I wanted to get straightened out. As if it wasn't bad enough wasting the morning.

I've never had the Cheerbils before though, they were lovely.

Ah that’s rough.

FuzzyPuffling · 23/12/2025 15:36

Aw Cake... sorry to hear that, but glad the cheerbils did their job.

Colin is probably curled up in a chair by a blazing fire somewhere.

Yes, here he is.

Sorry to hear about your biopsies Cake, I hope you can delegate some of the tasks involving lifting over the next couple of days.

I loved your knitted Christmas stockings. I thought they'd make lovely hammocks for small gerbils.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 23/12/2025 16:06

Much love to Cake. Just relax & do something nice, you've had a rotten morning. And then let someone else do the Christmas stuff.

Yes, here he is.

Well, that's the first time I've seen anyone use gravel as flooring inside the house. Very avant garde, but I suppose it reminds you of rocky, windswept cliffs. You do you, little Puffers.

Btw, I saw these the other day. There are all sorts of matching items, & today they're in the sale, too!

Gravel?? That's my inherited with the house carpet. All other grey has been removed.
Colin doesn't seem to care!

Trip to Dunelm for puffin related goods seems on the cards.

I know they're supposed to be fishtail but, to me, they look like snake tongues 👅 🐍

I'm another who says yes to the card, but only ordinary politeness.

Cake, I'm so sorry they had to do so many nasty things to you, one was bad enough😕 Take care of yourself, you must be feeling very fragile after that experience. All the Bluestocking staff on are standby to provide food and drink of choice, massages, etc. and all us Bluestocking chums are here sending our good wishes💙

MarieDeGournay · 23/12/2025 16:54

Hello misscockerspaniel, come in, you're welcome, there's always room for another animal, and it's nice that you're misscockerspaniel, Colin has somehow managed to gain not just grudging admittance, but a comfy basket in the Bluestocking, although he's a male.

I wonder if that 1998 report was the spark of inspiration for the Father Ted episode where the priests get trapped in the lingerie department?😄

NotAtMyAge · 23/12/2025 16:54

So sorry to hear about the multiple biopsies, Cake. I've had several over the years but only ever one at a time. Take care of yourself and follow doctor's orders.

On a completely different subject I've just heard the lovely news that our middle grandson has been offered the job he was interviewed for earlier this afternoon. We're absolutely delighted for him. 😊 Seven months of job hunting must have felt very long to him at the age of 23.

FuzzyPuffling · 23/12/2025 16:59

That's great news NotAtMyAge. Well done your grandson.
