Webberley vs Gold

Another interview where she comes across as an evil lunatic and it’s clear the interviewer is viscerally repulsed by her no doubt.

I haven’t watched it - not sure it’s available yet - but I usually find Andrew Gold a decent interviewer.

I do agree that both parties in this sort of conversation need to agree terms before they start.

I have a son. HW would describe him as AMAB.

Should I have taken him to the doctor at 17 when his periods showed no sign of arriving?

What if he had decided to identify as a girl at 16? THEN should I have taken him to the doctor when his periods didn’t start?

Why not, Webberley? Because he’s a…. ? What’s that?

On “passing” in female spaces; If my blind grandmother wants only women to care for her, is it OK for a man - just a plain old “cis” (to use her term) man with a feminine sounding voice to provide intimate care?

💯 This is the way forward.

Gender ideologist love to keep things abstract and elusive when talking about the constructs that make males female and vice versa. They like to switch this up and make it very concrete when talking about males with trans identities ‘just needing to pee’.

We need to do the same in terms of talking about when females ‘just need’.

She really is doing the rounds isn't she, anyone would think she has a book to flog, as she hasn't she must have something else to flog.

Is she setting her self up to be the international voice of the 'trans' movement? Trying to get on to the lucrative lecture circuit?

There must be some reason behind it all.

She mentioned some "new" drug regimens that get round the PB ban in her thing with Helen Joyce. I wonder if she's shilling for new customers?

That or its wild death throes.

JamieCannister · 23/11/2025 10:37

RachelFanshawe "I do agree that both parties in this sort of conversation need to agree terms before they start."

But the only way that a man becomes a woman is linguistically - the choice of language settles the argument.

She only heard of transgender people ten years ago?

She must have been living under a rock. But she monetised her new knowledge pretty quickly.

Clearly didn't watch Coronation Street, Hayley Cropper was donkeys years ago

GCinAcademia · 23/11/2025 11:15

About 13 minutes in, when she tells Gold he can't identify as Black because thats an observable characteristic, he says "but so is sex"

She agrees, but says we're not talking about sex, we're talking about gender.

So why did she say in the debate vs Joyce that people can change sex?

If I had more time I'd love to sit down and make a list of all the ways she's contradicted herself.

Soontobe60 · 23/11/2025 11:41

Bloody Hell!! I’ve watched the first few minutes and am crying with laughter as well as raging with anger!
She admits she knew nothing about transgenderism in 2015 and yet was happy to prescribe opposite sex hormones so that a bloke in south wales wouldn’t have to travel to London on a tran in a dress, then quickly set up GenderGPto help other men do the same. So prescribing outside of her experience, knowledge and medical training. What an own goal!
Then, this so called doctor can’t even bring herself to use the correct name for genitals ‘am I allowed to say willy’ ‘never mind those dangly things’ whilst looking coyly at Gold. I bet he wet himself with laughter watching it back. She’s truly bonkers.

I feel that Mr Menno will be working on a compilation video of all her contradictions right now - I can imagine the hilarity it will invoke.

She obviously doesn't know much about evolution. "Race" is mutable and changing. Different races have evolved over thousands of years; people migrate and then evolve according to environment; early British people such as Cheddar Man are now thought to have been black-skinned and blue-eyed; the height of different populations varies depending on environment and nutrition; people of different races can produce children with each other; some racial groups with small populations die out. I could go on. So, while an individual might be described as "black", their ancestors could include people of very different racial types and features.

The existence of two sexes, on the other hand, has remained unchanged thoughout the history of primates. There has been no point in history where humans or any other primate species has more than two sexes.

Yes. I did think that what she said there was actually very problematic. I have mixed race friends who are very light skinned, and would probably be assumed White by most people. How offensive to say that because they don't look Black enough, that part of their heritage can be legitimately denied.

I think her interviewers should start asking questions about her long history of flogging drugs for various conditions.

'Gender' isn't her first or only rodeo.

She is either psychic or lying, as Gendergp was set up in 2014 and she had a controlling interest.

From the GMC tribunal findings:

In her 2016 appraisal she acknowledged that most of her time was devoted to maintaining a recently started online information service for people with gender variance and offering online consultations to patients with gender dysphoria.

She has a controlling interest in three companies registered with Companies House which were incorporated in dates in 2014 as follows:

  1. GenderGP Limited - 10 August
  2. My Web Doctor Limited - 13 November
  3. Online GP Services Limited - 16 November.

Easy - the most marginalized and vulnerable deserve all of the rights, hateful regressive bigots deserve none of the the rights.

[Not my opinion, to be clear]

I think 'most marginalized' is sometimes code for 'people to whom we are prepared to cede some power because we don't consider them to be a threat'.

This would have been just after she got involved in selling NHS drugs to the US.

She doesn't care about the contradictions. In the debate with Helen Joyce the moderator, on talking about puberty blockers, said to HW that she had described them as "a pause" which HW denied. When pressed she revised her statement to say she "hadn't said that today" 😑

nicepotoftea · 23/11/2025 13:43

I think all the noise about her 'advocacy' is designed to hide the thread that runs through all her activities - exploiting loopholes to sell drugs, with minimal care for patients.

TheGiantBear · 23/11/2025 13:53

There’s just so much here. So much that is really shocking.

Notable that he has to coax her by gross flattery which anyone with normal social antennae would see through.

The whole ‘little girl’ thing- what kind of a doctor talks about ‘willies’? And ‘dangly bits’? I find it quite horrible to see a middle aged woman portraying imbecilic bug eyed ‘girlishness’ in this way.

At about minute 32, is she claiming by implication that homosexuality is a delusion resulting from socialisation?

RapidOnsetGenderCritic · 23/11/2025 16:32

(Paraphrased)

HW: Anorexia is a mental illness. Trans identity is not a mental illness.
AG: Why?
HW: Because I'm a doctor and I say so.

AG: Do you want to do an arm wrestle?
HW: Oh, I always lose when I do that.

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 23/11/2025 16:53

I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole thing, so I skipped about. The section at the end where she talked about men and how lovely they all are, completely ignoring/denying male violence horrified me. She's a horrible, dishoneast woman.

Rightsraptor · 23/11/2025 16:55

We know Helen is a nice person because she keeps telling us she is.

She weaponises her assumed niceness: there's a bit at the end where Andrew is using Anorexia Nervosa as a comparator and HW objects because she's mindful of parents who may be watching who have an AN child & how this might be distressing for them. She does something similar earlier too.

You really can't make media shows while being overly sensitive that someone might be upset by the content. I know we've already gone a way down that road with 'trigger warnings' etc but she was being totally manipulative for her own purposes.

Agreed. I really wanted AG to pull out some stats and see how she reacted to them.

Yes, she doesn't care about parents of children with trans identities who see their children damaging themselves with GAC, all because of a maladaptive coping mechanism.

Found it. I knew I wasn’t imagining it.

Wasn't it fascinating how different she was with Andrew? Far less patronising. Far more polite.

I think she actually came across far worse in this one than she did in either JBs or HJs debates. I think because Andrew was simply asking questions. Why is anorexia a mental illness but gender confusion isn’t? Why can’t I identify as black?

Simple questions like this are difficult to wriggle away from.

"Why is anorexia a mental illness but gender confusion isn’t?"

Because identity & illness mean two different things.

"Why can’t I identify as black?"

The difference is that a person is born with their racial identity and a transgender identity is an innate and deeply felt sense of gender that doesn't require a change in racial background.

This makes no sense. You are not born with a "racial identity", in fact I don't think people are born with an identity at all. They're just babies, and it takes a while to even realise that they are people, that they have hands they can control, that they are related to other people. You are born with your genes, yes, but the environment around you - parents, friends, culture - has a massive effect.

She’s set up a new clinic in the US. The centre of gravity is very different there, she’ll look like she’s taking on the terrible people of TERF island.

I loathe Webberley but she’s playing journalists / activists like a fiddle here, their vanity is flattered and they think they can be the one to “destroy” her but actually she just wants more people to have heard of her, so mission accomplished…

Dunno, one of my US acquaintances who avoids talking to me about gender caught the Times interview & was not impressed. Until now she's just bobbed along being affirming because "medical consensus" but hadn't a clue who these gender medics were. She's now tottering in the foothills of genuine disquiet, not least because she has experience of people with Personality Disorders & clocked Webberley's tactics as manipulation.

Edited for dyslexia.
