I'm actually quite impressed that HW turned up to both interviews and I do now think she'll be doing the same on Thursday with HJ.

We should stop calling these things debates, as a debate has a structured format which these interviews don't share. I'm sure HW will stick to her fairly robotic talking points without giving an inch, insisting on all the activist language as she does, which does not allow for any dissent. HJ will be as rational and logical as she always is.

I don't think this Thursday will get anyone to change their position on any of this.

HW is out selling her business, now she's going to the US. She knows she has people convinced and is going to make good money by being there. Not turning up will not look good for her and her believers.

It's very clear now, HW will do anything at all, publically suffer any humiliation, to promote her child catching god awful business.

The interesting thing is that she is actively undermining the treatment she is selling.

There is a possible argument that 'gender affirming care' improves mental health, and if she stuck to that, she could argue that even if the data to show this doesn't exist now, it might at some point in the future. We could argue over the ethics of this, but we would be sticking within the realms of the possible.

However, she is trying to sell something that is impossible - opposite sex puberty.

She does know! At 4:30 whilst explaining non binary she says....

It's a hard concept to get your head round but biological sex is definitely one or the other. You either have female genitals or male genitals.

I agree that the recent US interview is a prime example of how not to go after this utter charlatan. The interviewer didn't actually engage with her and to casual observers he may have come across as unhinged as her.

She needs a different approach. In time honored fashion, follow the money. How much money has this fucker and her shit bag of a husband made from pushing experimental drugs on vulnerable kids? How is she paying her mortgage? In what other branch of medicine would this be acceptable? What does she make of the evidence base? What about detransitioners? Let her talk more.

Helen Webberley is only doing interviews because she is moving into the US market and this is the best way for her to promote GenderGP to unsuspecting children. It's a money-making strategy.

She's such a grifter. But also delusional - I can't see how she can get away with her usual non-existent levels of care in the US without getting sued to oblivion. Even if she doesn't live there.

Tribunal Tweets was formed in 2021 to report on the Medical Practitioners Tribunal (MPT) proceedings against Helen Webberley. We have archived our coverage from those proceedings and made it available on our Substack.

However, she is trying to sell something that is impossible - opposite sex puberty.

There's still enough headwind in general public understanding to think that this is possible. It even gets talked about from "GC" talking points - for example, some people talk about how unfair it would be to allow trans(identifying) female athletes taking testosterone into women's sports because they "go through a male puberty".

Also the Olympics debacle highlights how easy it is to convince enough people to feel confused about whether an athlete with 46 XY 5-ARD is a male with a DSD or a female with a DSD.

All of this confusion leaves enough space for enough people to think that a female who takes testosterone is "going through male puberty" by getting a beard and a deep voice, and a male who takes oestrogen is "going through female puberty" by growing breast tissue.

Even trans reddit knows this is going to be a car crash.

Webberley is going to come across tebberley.

She's onto a loser there too. When research is done competently & addresses confounding variables, it's impossible to assert that puberty blockade improves mental health because those kids who do show improvement in MH have had therapy &/or mood stabilisers as well as PBs.
If, on the other hand, you do your research with the objective of finding pretty metrics to support the money-making activities of quacks like Webberly, you register your study with assessing MH improvements as one of your areas of investigation, then mysteriously drop it entirely from your published results & put out a press release saying, "puberty blockers improve MH!" & mush-brained LARPers who identify as journalists don't read the original study, tinker with the wording of the press release a little to make themselves feel like they've done a journalism & publish that instead.

Nobody expects her to change her position. What we want is for maximum sunlight, to expose what she is actually proposing/profiting from.

I think this is one thing we can all agree on: Webberley is a harmful liability and should never be allowed to treat anyone.

I was very glad to see that trans people on Reddit have hte measure of her.

But then, trans people aren't her audience. I'd say parents who want to access medication for their children that isn't readily prescribed are probably her main audience.

I turned down an opportunity to appear today on Times Radio opposite ‘someone like Kathleen Stock or Rosie Duffield’ to discuss Geraldine Scott’s Times article based on an apparently leaked version of the EHRC service provision guidance.

I don’t normally turn down an opportunity to speak, but given the nature of the channel, the company and the conditions, this would only be taking part in anti-trans propaganda.

This means: I knew I'd lose, the game is up.

The fact that people like HW are being challneged by the GB news guy as being crazy and hurting children, is going to be massively decreasing the number of parents seeking HW's wares.
It can no longer be innocently posed as the right way to support your child and what normal parents will do.

To most normal peopl she will look batshit. GB news man represented the normal person's resposne. Ina way this is more powerful than HJ's dbeating skills, as this can be looked at as 2 invested ideologues facing off.

In a way, 'don't be fucking stupid' may be the best argument yet.

HW is selling to an rapidly decreasing number of radical or mentally unwell parents who remain just as crazy as her.

But there are still children who are going to be harmed even if the number is decreasing. She needs to be stopped.
