Surely someone needs to report a non crime hate incident to his local police force, so that he can be arrested publicly by 5 armed police officers only seems fair to me.

It’s a very low bar to be celebrating, but I’m delighted that he’s been suspended and forced to apologise.

Given the violent nature of his tweet, compared to what Glinners said - as an example - then he really should have been arrested.

But right now, after years of public bodies closing their eyes, seeing someone suspended for a tweet like this feel like a real win.

So many of these nasty, entitled males in local politics. Makes my flesh crawl that he makes decisions about vulnerable people and children etc

His post was a reply to Natalie Bird, who was removed as a Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for Wakefield in 2018 after she wore a top reading “Woman: Adult Human Female” to a party meeting.
At the time, Cllr Bristow was suspended from the group, deleted his post and apologised for it, saying that “the tone and graphic used were inappropriate”.

She was removed as a potential candidate for wearing a t shirt which stated the definition of a woman.
He posted a violent graphic threatening to shoot a 'Terf' and is welcomed back into the fold.

I like to think the 'training' consisted of a blackboard with 'women are human beings' written on it, and him sat in front of it, for hours.

I wish that was the case. LibDem in his area are seen as the nicer option to voting Tories. They are likely to stay in power and just make their TRA agenda underground/less public.

Daisy Cooper is tipped for Leader and she is a TRA.

I think longterm, this has revealed huge weaknesses in the party. They had been hitherto unknown to me, at least!

There is a very unpleasant group of individuals in the Lib Dems who threaten and bully MPs and PPCs; they abuse the disciplinary process and generally make sure that gender critical people are attacked, smeared and bullied.

Bristow made the mistake of being too overt and brought that unpleasantness into the spotlight.

But the tide is turning. I genuinely think that Daisy would abandon the TRA position if she thought it no longer served her political ambitions
