This was the group where the women's Marches focusing on VAWG were organised earlier this year. The name has changed from 'women's rights' to 'intersectional uprising' and the logo with the Venus symbol replaced by a phoenix in the trans flag colours.

Very interesting change.

Found this post on Reddit, the author hasn’t exactly set the political activism subreddit alight but interesting to read about the fall outs.

I thought this line was particularly funny:
"Activism is about solidarity, community and actually platforming voices that matter.
NOT about white women riding on the back of black, brown and trans women to build an organisation where they 'employ' city leads to do their dirty work."

What a coincidence, I was just trawling through old watched threads and I came across this one -

I never got to the end but it sounded like a complete shit show.

They've recently set up a web site which doesn't say anything new https://www.intersectionaluprising.co.uk/

And seem to have limited their aspirations to this:

We March in solidarity with women around the world ♥
Twice a year, we come together in cities across the country to hold our nationwide solidarity marches—powerful gatherings that unite us in purpose and passion. These marches are more than just events; they are a collective stand against injustice and silence. They offer an opportunity to raise our voices on behalf of women around the world whose voices have been silenced by oppression, violence, and inequality. Through our presence and our words, we amplify their stories, demand change, and reaffirm our shared commitment to dignity, freedom, and justice for all women

I think though sort of lost track, that they have changed the facebook setting because there was still some tiresome women who thought they could question the facebook page owner.

Looking back on the whole sequence of events an individual posted about wanting a demonstration about women's rights thinking everyone thought like her.

Lots of other women responded (and if anything this is the most significant part) with needles to say a range of ideas about how to campaign for women's rights.

Original poster was astonished that she should be anserable to anyone.

So has restructed to let her and trusted aides be in charge.

So it is some sort of franchise now. A city "leader" is agreed and it is left to them to do the work.

Very, very strange.

What would have been good if all the women who wanted something else didn't work out a way of connecting together.

Or that those who took part in the original marches didn't go on to form local groups.

Or maybe some did and are just keeping quiet about it.

Intersectional uprising is an excellent name. A pretentious name for people who enjoy navel gazing and claim to want people to work together but want to uprise against “them” the vaguely defined bad people. I do wonder about the sanity of people who spend their lives organising these sorts of pointless nonevents

BrassCass · 25/04/2026 15:54

They are just outright admiting they dont support women and girls. Excusing abuse by one of their volunteers/organisers because nobody came forward.

Well they did actually and got harrassed by TikTok morons so hid away and other women too scared now.

If you're not prioritising women, you're not a women's rights organisation.

Best to be ignored. Let them disappear up their 'intersectional' arse.

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 25/04/2026 18:51

It just becomes yet another transactivist group/march/event. For and about transactivists. Like Scope has become just another transactivist group.

Happy they are marching for what they think they maybe believe in and are no longer pretending it’s anything to do with women who are half the population and have all sorts of political beliefs but aren’t men

Agree. This will be another omnicause group.

What do we want?
We don't really know! (But we like the feelz and the shouting bit!)
When do we want it?
Er.... my mum said I had to be home for tea?

FlirtsWithRhinos · 26/04/2026 15:08

I guess that means the "Woman's March" name is now available to be used for a march by and/or for actual women?

So Intersectionalists for Everyone and Against All Injustices Except For Specifically Female People and Specifically Female Injustices get a more appropriate name to march under in support of their cause, and Feminists get a more appropriate name to march under in support of ours.

Sounds like a Win/win to me!
