Great work from the Countess, the '... first-ever independent survey into attitudes to gender in Ireland ... has revealed widespread support among the Irish public for single-sex spaces, services and sports.'

https://thecountess.ie/first-irish-public-poll-on-gender-debate/

'The majority of those polled favour single-sex facilities and care provision, while more than half are opposed to people being allowed to compete in sports of the opposite birth sex.

More than three-quarters of respondents (77%) agreed that people should have the right to request that intimate medical examinations are carried out by a person of the same birth sex.

62% said public buildings such as schools and banks should have to provide single-sex toilets.

64% agreed that hospitals should be required to provide single-sex wards.
55% of respondents said males who identify as women should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports at any level, versus 21% in favour.'

Irish Public Have Say in First Irish Gender Poll

Irish society has become more accepting of gender expression, but when it comes to the provision of intimate spaces and services, biological sex matters. The Countess last month commissioned the first…

Interesting findings.

Shows how Ireland really isn’t comparative to England.

I haven’t read a similar poll done in England, though…

Think again…

See this thread for a recent YouGov poll done here in the UK:

Oh! It seems this is from 2021. Sorry, I saw it posted and didn't realise it was an old one.

That was 4 years ago, I you imagine the results would be much more negative if polling happened now about self-ID, single sex spaces and sports etc

Worrying about schools. Indoctrination at a young age was the brain child of the NGO lobby, executed via transmaiden Min for Ed and zealot former Taoiseach (Irish prime minister). We have opted out our DS of all SPHE to the extent that it refers, even in passing, to anything T related and all religion; basically, the made-up stuff. He does extra STEM in a separate room instead.

To quote my old granny, Arabella, 'Jesus Mary and Joseph you put the heart crossways in me' with that 2021 pollGrin

I'm glad it's not current, because while the results on single sex services and facilities were OK, a shocking number supported transwomen who hadn't had genital surgery having access to women's prisons and rape crisis centres - it was only slightly more against than in favour, with almost the same number of don't knows.
I really really hope a similar poll today would show a shift in those figures.

FashionVixen · 31/07/2025 21:26

Lolz! 🤣

ArabellaScott · 31/07/2025 21:47

It really would be interesting to see an updated one.

I would think a more recent one would be very different

The Countess have done amazing work, they get no mainstream media coverage at all

Paddy O Gorman and his podcast on prisons has brought lots of sunlight

Still a total shitstorm of wokeness in Ireland
