School flying the trans/pride flag...

DDs school is flying the pride progress flag (with the trans colours & chevron) I have no issue with the traditional rainbow pride flag but don't feel it's appropriate to fly a trans flag (which I think is a deeply homophobic ideology.) I'm composing an email...has anyone encountered similar? Are the traditional rainbow flags ever seen?

It's a view that's certainly held by a sizeable minority (if not more) of the gay community.
