Just saw this on Facebook and am wondering what they are aiming for to achieve from it. It feels like they are trying to jump on to a bandwagon.

He grew up with a transgender parent? Which one? The one who supplied the sperm, or the one who supplied the egg?

I bet I can guess which, though…

KiIIingMeDeftly · 29/06/2025 16:56

That's one thing he has in common with Chandler Bing then!

Carriemac · 29/06/2025 22:01

Unsubscribed from Boden , had been meaning to do a while but that crap made up my mind

I assume he lost a bet?

This has got to be the answer. One of those posh kid pranks.

I think it is that men are hopelessly stereotyped in their aspirations and self image but women are more likely to seperate the dress from the wearer so can see a man in a dress and think ‘those sleeves are great’

When I see a man in a dress being sold for women I immediately think ‘cut’. A dress that is cut to fit a man would not fit a woman - it would be too long in the torso, too broad across the shoulders, too narrow at the hips, too long in the sleeves, ill fitting at the waste, and hopeless at the bust. Any clothing supplier who doesn’t understand the difference is shape between men and women does not deserve my business.

I’d bloody love dresses longer in the torso. See also one-piece swimwear Angry

Oh dear. Lol. Not a brand I buy anyway due to his links with fox hunting, but it’s clear I am not missing out!

That's the worst outfit I have seen in a long time.

How exactly did this geezer get to be Tatler's style editor?

Suffice to say Tatler must have a bruised back from so many pats

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 01/07/2025 06:11

Does he watch Emily in Paris for his style inspo? 😬😬

I agree. As a tall not skinny woman with broad size 9 feet it's incredibly annoying that brands manage to find stuff to fit males but I have problems finding a size 9 quality shoe for work or evening that doesn't look cheap or orthopaedic

HobnobsChoice · 05/07/2025 15:08

His posture in the Ascot picture looks absolutely awful. Other pictures show the same whenever he is wearing women's cut jackets which makes me think that they simply aren't broad enough in the shoulder for him and he's forced to hunch into them so he can get them on. It's not flattering and makes the clothes hang oddly. When he was younger he had a bit of a New Romantic air going on. With age and weight gain the clothing proportions just don't fit him at all well so jackets and jumpers are too short. And he's very fond of a high collar which is never a great look with a fatter chin. I speak from personal experience

I thought elephant poaching and importation of elephant hides was illegal.

Tatler: celebrating trans and non binary people.

In other news:

Tatler: Hugo Humphington-Smythe, the new Earl of Custard, tells us how he is enjoying life at his newly-inherited stately home, the magnificent Humphington Hall. Meet Custard-shire’s most eligible bachelor and his lovely sister Lady Amelia, who shows us her cosy cottage on the estate.

Identity only goes so far, doesn’t it.

More to the point

Tatler: Helena (formerly Hugo) Humphington-Smythe, the new Countess of Custard, tells us how she is enjoying life at her newly-inherited stately home, the magnificent Humphington Hall. Meet Custard-shire’s most eligible spinster and her lovely older sister Lady Amelia, who shows us her cosy cottage on the estate.

See I actually like that jacket. If they showed it on a model in her 30s-40s styled with a plain dress, sandals and a pretty necklace, it would be right up my street. I would seriously consider getting one. But styled like that and worn by a man, nothing more could put me of that outfit.
