TRAs online attack on a bunny rescue

Carrot Cottage Rabbit Rescue is, well what it says. They have a policy on twix of they follow back anyone who follows them.

JKR follows them and they followed back so the TRAs have taken 'action' including reporting them to the Charity Commission.

In response t the pile on The Famous Artist Birdy Rose sent them a picture as a gift and they are now selling merch with it on.

Good grief! I bet the Charity Commission looked at the complaint:

"Waaah! They followed JK Rowling! Execute them to death until they are dead, then kill them again!"

... and concluded that it had been a not quite rational person, shall we say?

When the trans activists found that they couldn't immediately shut down Carrot cottage rabbit rescue, they decided that there was another bunny sanctuary, The Tranquil Rabbit Sanctuary, that had some association with the first sanctuary, and was smaller and more vulnerable, so they then started to attack them as well:

You know when you have an unsettled night's sleep for some reason, and after a few hours of unrefreshing sleep you wake up and remember weird dreams you had.

Like there was this animal sanctuary, right, that had only had rabbits - well there was a lovely puppy too but 99% rabbits - and they were sooo cute and one of them was called Nelly and she did that jumping up in the air thing that lambs do - gambolling, I think it's called - I hope lambs gambol responsibly, because otherwise they'll get fleeced - and then the rabbit sanctuary was attacked by a bunch of, like, trans rights activists because the rabbits were transphobic or JKR did something hateful once related to rabbits like giving a chocolate Easter bunny with a little bell around its neck to one of her kids or something - anyhooo the TRAs were trying to shut it down and all the bunnies would die... and then I woke up, wondering what it was I had eaten the night before to have such a ridiculous dream!

The phrase 'you couldn't make it up' is overused, but this is a dictionary definition of it. As is 'shooting yourself in the foot in a nation of animal lovers'!

The bunnies are lovely, as are the people at both sanctuaries

My 76 year old mother is very ill in hospital and my 80 year GC father is very very low and struggling to cope.

To cheer him up I told him about The Transphobic Bunnies. (trademark pending). He's quite delighted and has now for the first time joined X and as of about 30 minutes ago has begun following The Carrots.

I went to look at Aidan Comerford's Twitter account for something completely different to this story and what do you know? He's also involved with attacking Carrot cottage rabbit rescue.

Yes, me too, I started following them because the TRAs were gunning for the bunnies, and now have beautiful rabbit pix daily! Stuff the TRAs, they need toe get a life, rather than trying to wreck other people’s.😍

I've never been captured in a binky, but here's a garden variety leap (in three parts), offered for your entertainment. Followed by something I like to call Yo!

How thick are they? So from what I can make out, 4 tra's started attacking this other rabbit sanctuary, because what? Rabbit sanctuary = death star?
And two of the four had actually contacted the sanctuary in the past for bunny related advice.
Honestly. Not the sharpest. Or nicest.
Unlike whoever runs the sanctuary who sounds amazing.

Sometimes male bunnies will binky to show off to the ladies, as demonstrated by Howard here. It took me many failed attempts to get this picture at the right moment!

Aiden comerford is one of the worst of the MRAs and TRAs I've ever had the misfortune to learn about. Thank goodness I refuse to do social media (well, apart from fabulous Mumsnet of course).

The whole thing is ridiculous though. AC mentions that they follow lots of GC people, but the way Twitter works means that demographic groups inevitably start following certain things. A GC person RT’s a cute bunny picture, their followers see it and follow too. Before you know it, lots of GC people are following them. They follow back, because it’s good for getting funding and suddenly, having never said anything political at all, they are bigots.

I mean that is literally how Twitter works. It was obvious from the rabbit charity’s profile that they simply followed everyone back as their followers and following numbers were pretty much the same. Quite possibly, they don’t much look at what their followers are posting, but just post their pictures and react to those who comment.

What AC and others are doing smacks of paranoia as well as a desire to bully.
