Ruck You - elite women rugby players 'captured'

TonTonMacoute · 05/06/2025 12:05

Just so disappointed to read this story. Elite female players, who are protected from having to play men, are happy to expose younger women and girls at community and grass roots level to the risk.

This is one sport where the scientific data is clear, men enjoy a significant physical advantage, why are these women so happy to pander to this delusion? I just don't understand how they can be so stupid,

That's very disappointing, I thought the RFU were on top of this. Men competing against women in rugby (either code) is ridiculous; anyone who's watched the sport, let alone played it, knows that.

DragonRunor · 05/06/2025 12:24

I think the RFU are on top of it - but some of the ex-international players want to challenge that and have organised this match.

And lo, the transwomen (who presumably haven’t played for a while) got trounced by a team of female internationals. So that proves it’s safe for transwomen to play with women 🙄

So I conclude that being good at rugby doesn’t necessarily come with a whole heap of logical thinking

TheNightingalesStarling · 05/06/2025 12:24

Girls rugby is very welcoming to trans players.. that is, to girls who identify as boys. Every single one of the girls on DDs team knows why they can't play with the boys past the age of 11. Lots of them had bad experiences before that age.

They can Ruck off.

Sure, but will they issue a statement deploring this, pointing out that it runs counter to the policies of World Rugby? I think not. But we'll see.

Hicc · 05/06/2025 13:12

And here is one of these men (who is probably a couple of decades older than the women he wants to play with), taking photos in the changing area at ruckyou.
I have scribbled over the faces of those changing. He did not.

I wish these female professional players would see the harm they are doing by pandering to these men.

Last year Acheson won a sex discrimination case against the fire brigade, so I guess in some areas of her life she understands how important it is to have legislation that protects her. Not so much in sport it seems.

That is Julie-Anne Curtiss.

Previously defended by Nancy Kelly from Stonewall.

Quotes from Curtiss' blog.

'I read on one of the websites that a good way to cross-dress in society was to use conventional dress-up opportunities. As Halloween was just around the corner, I decided to go to a party as my ex-wife, the scariest monster I know! I didn’t look great, but then neither does my ex-wife!'
...
'I do get frustrated with the “fairy” type of gay person though. Having never felt the need to strut around the planet affirming my hetero-sexuality, I see no need for people to strut around the world affirming their homo-sexuality. To me the “fairies” also fit into my swinging dick category. They just swing it a different way!'
...
'I was about 8, that, during school holidays I would dress in my sisters’ clothes and underwear. I loved the softness and it made me feel something deeply emotional inside, like this is how I was meant to be.'
...
'while I believe my mother and sisters were aware of my issue, we never discussed it and they kind of tolerated it. My step-mother however was less charitable, although she had great clothes and underwear!'
...
'I was so jealous, not resentful though (ok, maybe sometimes!) of the way girls were able to dress. I loved the idea of being able to wear make-up, mini-skirts, long hair, soft underwear, bras, camisoles and nighties. It drove me crazy.'
...
'I enjoyed, and still enjoy, hetero-sex, but realized from the outset that I always wished to be on the other side. Oh, to be able to wear sexy negligees, panties, all those toys and to be able to multiple orgasm! Its just not fair damn it 🙂'

Surprisingly, Julie-Ann deleted his X and that blog.

Luckily, it's all archived.

'I never wanted to have homosexual sex, but strongly desired to have sex with a man, as a woman. '

'My cross-dressing got worse as I would steal my friends’ sisters underwear and step-mother’s. My step-mother tried to deal with this by locking her dressing room, which I got around by stealing and copying a key.'

' I was so jealous, not resentful though (ok, maybe sometimes!) of the way girls were able to dress. I loved the idea of being able to wear make-up, mini-skirts, long hair, soft underwear, bras, camisoles and nighties. It drove me crazy. It was when I was about 16 that I started to by my own girls clothes. I remember the rush of going into a Woolworths (our equivalent of Marks & Spencers) and buying my first camisole, bra, panties and garter belt. For the rest I borrowed from my sisters and being a little overweight helped me fill the bra a bit and my spare-tire functioned as a great pair of hips'

Bloody hell my eyes are bleeding from reading those quotes.
🤢🤢🤢
I think the rugby players at a high level are pro-trans because they think they're well 'ard and can take on blokes and want to prove it and don't care who gets hurt in the process. It's that mentality we had a lot of in the 00s that paved the way for the situation we're now in where women were told they could do anything at all exactly the same as men. It's not going to end well. When she's old enough, I won't let my DD play rugby if there is any chance at all she'd be playing against males. I don't want her to get hurt.

zanahoria · 05/06/2025 14:35

"The game began with seven trans women playing against seven former female internationals"

Not sure what point they are trying to make here.

Presumably the transwomen are amateurs, no transwomen play the game professionally, but the women are female internationals.

I would expect women who have played the game professionally to be able to give seven random blokes a decent game, especially in Sevens that is mainly about running and does not have scrums.

It is a bit different to putting males Ina fifteen side game against amateur female players.

Playing against girls only will not remove the risk of injury. In a full-contact sport like rugby, there is always the risk of injury; ACL injuries, syndesmosis, broken bones...

Yes, this is it. It's a vanity project if you like. They're "proving" they can thrash the shit out of men. Look at us, we're well 'ard but with a nice inclusive little tagline for added kudos.

No shit. But playing against boys is a recipe for complete and utter disaster. 🤷‍♀️

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 05/06/2025 15:42

Oh I see it’s Poppy Cleal, no surprise there, she has form for supporting this nonsense. Maybe she’s trying to stay relevant now she’s retired.

Also, these are all ex England players, there’s no real connection with the current England women’s team.

Thanks for pointing that out, it’s completely obvious given that it’s a contact sport. But I’m sure you already know that being tackled by a man would massively increase the risk of serious injury or death for a woman.

moto748e · 05/06/2025 15:52

For the avoidance of doubt, of course I do. I was simply pointing out that playing rugby is not without risk of injury.

Certainly Julie-Ann was not a first pick for his local women's team when he was allowed to play.
But just coz he is a crap player doesn't mean he should be anywhere near a women's team. I am very glad there is a complete ban
Rugby is dangerous enough.

SinnerBoy · 05/06/2025 16:52

Well, all I can say is thank goodness nobody was hurt and isn't it a good job they have no authority.

I mean, the size of the bloke posted by
Hicc · Today 13:12

He probably couldn't catch a cold, but if he managed to tackle a woman... I also wonder if they were told to go easy on the women, for appearances sake.

Definitely not a fetish tho.

I am sure all the women knew who the transwomen were. I wonder why 🙄
