Except MPs think that would be mean, because it would be reality.

If legal sex was the sex recorded at birth - aren't birth certificates now falsifiable with a GRC? There would need to be a checkable database of issued GRCs by name to be certain the birth certificate offered was in fact the original.

However the onus should be on the person wishing to use a single sex space that they are of that sex, and not of the space/resource or service provider when there is doubt and there is a mixed sex service available.

Yeah yes they are falsifiable. But I was under the impression you could tell if it wasn't the original, because it's a shorter version

I think theres a fee for the full version, and the short one is covered in the cost of the GRC.

Some of you might find this interesting. These are suggested responses to the consultation suggested by Sandra Duffy.

I didn't know who Sandra Duffy is: "Dr Sandra Duffy is an Irish legal academic and a teaching associate at University of Bristol Law School." and a trans activist.

Oh my,

"Trans people should be aware that filling in the consultation might be difficult or distressing, as might interacting with the EHRC’s documents. You do not have to put yourself through this if it is too hard. It is better for the community that you are healthy and happy than that there is another response logged."

Can these people not learn some resilience?

Then we have the usual rubbish, like

"Biological sex’ is a misleading and inaccurate term which does not in all cases correlate to the sex assigned/recorded at birth."

to which I can only say, "Are these people incapable of understanding facts?"

Then more of the usual rubbish, like

"Equally, this could potentially exclude cis women who are ‘thought to’ be trans by women-only associations because they are cis but gender non-conforming."

Sigh

TheOtherRaven · 02/06/2025 08:23

Bloody hell.

I can't read all of that balderdash. All I have is that yes, trans people are very very special and very very complicated and don't want definitions or boundaries in any way while leading their very special and complicated lives.

But other people have rights too.
