Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Thank you for sharing. That was a great article.

When you step back and see what she does and has done overall, it is amazing. It is what so many of us dream of. She is very wise.

ArabellaScott · 17/05/2025 19:24

JK you are a gem. May you live a long and happy life.

Ukholidaysaregreat · 17/05/2025 19:34

OMG! I love JKR! What a woman. Xxx

KitchenMandarin · 17/05/2025 19:44

Truly incredible ♥️

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 17/05/2025 19:50

I do need her to get her arse in gear and get the next strike and Robin book out though. Frankly she’s kept me waiting far too long to find out what happens next

ArabellaScott · 17/05/2025 19:56

It would be nice to do something for her for a change.

It’s out on 2nd September. I’ve preordered!

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 17/05/2025 20:40

Woohoo!

MrsOvertonsWindow · 17/05/2025 21:44

Agree with everyone else. She's a wonderful woman and an antidote to all the grim self serving men trashing women and women's rights.

Safeguarding runs through her like letters in a stock of rock too, I notice. Not this child needed love so much they immediately sat on a stranger’s knee but the implications of that.

That line really jolted me, too

Yes, I read that paragraph several times.

She's absolutely right. I volunteered with abandoned children for a while and it's true, they'll go to anyone who shows them even the smallest amount of love.

My own children would never do that.

Redshoeblueshoe · 17/05/2025 22:05

Yes. Once you understand that, you see how dangerous it is for random adults to sell the concept of "glitter families" to unhapy children and teenagers.

Such a wise woman.

viques · 18/05/2025 00:20

I wonder how many others on the Rich List have chosen to share their wealth so generously. Not many I guess, though I imagine they all donate something to “good causes”, but not on her scale.

What struck me was how she involves herself with the organisations she supports, they mean a lot to her personally, writing a cheque would be easy , but she takes on the emotional baggage that goes with really caring about the projects. I hope she gets satisfaction from being able to make such a difference, but you also feel the frustration and anger that her intervention is necessary in the first place.

ThisPithyJoker · 18/05/2025 01:09

What an incredible woman. Such a selfless, talented, generous person. Her strength and resilience blows my mind

BigfootSmallButtons · 18/05/2025 01:45

I want to be a philanthropist like her!

RhannionKPSS · 18/05/2025 01:49

Thank you for sharing, it’s a very moving interview.
Thank you Jo if you just happen to be reading this, for your steadfast support , care and compassion for the vulnerable in the world.

Appalonia · 18/05/2025 02:04

That was a really lovely interview. She's someone who genuinely cares about the world and puts her money where her mouth is. She made a surprise appearance at the FILIA conference in Glasgow 2 years ago, and she was just as funny, sweary and bright as you'd wish her to be. An amazing woman!

colourmystic · 18/05/2025 05:09

Oh no, what has that evil witch done now? Fully funded another orphanage or something? IS THERE NO END TO HER WICKEDNESS

Giggorata · 18/05/2025 05:40

I think she is wonderful. Her integrity and character leap off the page, for all to see.
It makes it all the more stupid and irritating that she has been subjected to that barrage

RogersOrganismicProcess · 18/05/2025 06:16

She is the embodiment of “every cloud has a silver lining” only in her case she is pure gold. The lines of support she is investing in and offering are multifaceted and will continue to touch countless lives. Yet, she lacks (beautifully) the egotistical, self-serving stance of many famous figures, who act as the face of charity work and causes.

Love her! She makes me want to be a better woman.

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 18/05/2025 07:12

Astonishing woman.

Fullyhuman · 18/05/2025 07:22

Really glad she did this interview.

reallyalurker · 18/05/2025 07:33
