5. Latest tome is about the stalking of a feminist activist.

Fuck off, Stephen. If you mean a real feminist activist, you're firmly on the side of the people doing the stalking.

If the cool girl male-centring kind, fuck off and stop mansplaining feminism.

Yes I know I'm unreasonably irritated by this.

But honestly.

There's a story line in one of his books, Insomnia, where a pro-choice feminist was coming to do a talk and it stirred up the menfolk but it was okay she was killed grotesquely in a bombing. As I recall the reader was left with the impression it served her right for stirring up controversy. The lead bomber's beaten wife left him and, eventually, began wearing a discreet pink triangle which made the main character sad.

It wasn't his best work, dull, and those bits really rankled.

He also used elements from Harry Potter in the Dark Tower. He definitely used snitches.
