Absolutely insane that the NHS uses the term TERF in official guidance signed off by two executives. Imagine if someone used the trans offensive word trxxy in NHS documents, it would never happen. I don't understand how this anti women attitude has been allowed.

@countrysidedeficit A thread from last year…

Under the guidance, no mental health units should have mixed wards. However, earlier this year, The Independent revealed the practice is widespread, with more than 500 sexual assaults reported across almost half of the NHS mental health hospitals in England.
In one case, patient Alexis Quinn told how she was placed on a male-only ward due to bed shortages at the time. She was later sexually assaulted while in the corridor by a male patient.
Another former patient, Rivkah Grant, was sexually assaulted by a male mental health worker while at Barnet Hospital, and then further “traumatised” after she was moved to a mixed ward just days later.

The NHS aren't anti-women and never have been.

Previously I might have agreed but having read hundreds of their policies I can't agree with that. The misogyny drips off the page. Somehow it is worse if that happened unconciously

Definition: Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology characterized by a strong, centralized government, militarism, and the suppression of opposition. It emphasizes national unity and often incorporates elements of nationalism, anti-communism, and sometimes, racism.

No idea what that has to do with me. I'm a working mum in my 50s who until recently read the Guardian. I just don't want to share a changing room with a male.

Having seen and heard the harrowing testimony of women and their all too common

  • birth trauma
  • delays in diagnosis and treatment for endometriosis
  • undertreatment for iron deficiency
  • undertreatment for pain
  • underrecognition of presentations with cardiac incidents
… it is, with great sadness that I offer my observation that the NHS is anti-women in words, deeds, policy, clinical practice, medical education, workplace structures etc. etc.

In much the same way the police were found institutionally racist, the NHS is misogynist.

And so are the police.

And so is the civil service.

This can be evidenced. Easily. Reality cannot be identified out of.

Amy woman who is now placed in a single sex ward or mental health unit and sexually assaulted or raped by a man or transwoman since the SC ruling should sue the NHS.
It's the only way they will learn.
