Manchester Evening News article which is hyperbolic and poor as their articles often are.

Where will they go? I'm pretty sure the UK is more tolerant than most countries.

Aizen · 30/04/2025 19:10

Trans Atlantic Irish Sea I reckon.

The thing about owning one of the world's tiniest violins is you can never find it when you need it..

"The Supreme Court decision however changes conditions from vilification to danger. British trans people are fleeing."

“In light of the ruling charity Trans Rescue, which supports LGBTQ+ people seeking to leave dangerous countries, has said it has seen a spike in transgender people approaching it to look at ways to get out of the UK.

Director of Trans Rescue Anne Ogborn said: “We have been concerned for a long time about the climate of fear and hate stoked in the UK media and government by anti-trans forces.”

Didn't that open letter from Ryan somebody state trans people wanted the UK to offer asylum for foreign trans folk as a priority? Yet this article says trans people in the UK are leaving or looking to leave. It’s not a very coherent or organised argument is it.

I’m not sure they’d find much quarter in the Middle East. How are predominantly Catholic countries on trans rights? What about other religions? Europe has seen a rise in right wing politics so would Europe be safer? Canada for the win, or Ireland or Australia.

They are often very supportive of Palestine so maybe here?

Ohwowwo · 30/04/2025 19:19

The word “charity” has become a questionable term in recent years. Many of them are nothing more than political or special interest pressure groups, quite prepared to exaggerate or lie to grab the headlines. The Trans self-obsessed train chugs on … and on 🥱

notthatoldchestnut · 30/04/2025 19:24

Are they looking for a go fund me page or crowd support? Where do I sign up? If they feel so persecuted I’ll happily help them on their way to a better place 🤣

PriOn1 · 30/04/2025 19:26

“In light of the ruling charity Trans Rescue, which supports LGBTQ+ people seeking to leave dangerous countries,”

Rolling my eyes at this. If it’s for lesbian and gay people, who may well be in danger, likely much more so than transitioners, and for longer, why is it called Trans Rescue?

TRANSPERBOLE “RESCUE” would be a better name.

They seriously put this in print, how hard do you think they looked for a way out, it's not just their gender they're confused about then. 🤣

Needspaceforlego · 30/04/2025 19:29

Hope they have a safe journey.

dementedpixie · 30/04/2025 19:34

Oh dear, how sad 😉

Arran2024 · 30/04/2025 19:36

Dylan Mulvaney is supposedly trying to move here!!https://www.dailywire.com/news/trans-activist-dylan-mulvaney-floats-move-to-london-but-u-k-just-ruled-men-arent-women

soupycustard · 30/04/2025 19:42

Gosh the poor mites. Still, I suppose transwomen will find it easier to move, get jobs, make money etc than a woman would. On account of, you know, the patriarchy and consequent male entitlement, and their determination to not only use their male privilege but also women's sex-based rights.
So all in all, I'm sure it won't be a tragedy and good luck to them all.

ItisntOver · 30/04/2025 19:54

I would be surprised to learn that other countries offer more basic, quotidian rights than the UK.
Possibly Canada? Even then, it would take a while for people to build up rights to maternity leave, healthcare etc.?

misscockerspaniel · 30/04/2025 19:56

They are moving to Transylvania. Obviously.

HugelyExpensiveCrystalDuck · 30/04/2025 20:18

They must have already had duel nationality then. You can’t just upsticks and live in another country.

HermioneWeasley · 30/04/2025 20:25

What a terrible loss, still we must soldier on

I assumed that they intended to claim asylum. I’d be interested in the response of some countries.

Wetoldyousaurus · 30/04/2025 20:34

I hear New Zealand welcomes people for apple picking and no wombat’s rights there. Although apple picking is not very conducive to sporting fish net stockings and sun there is very sharp so no boob tubes lads.

Jen579 · 30/04/2025 20:44

They want asylum for not being able to use the wrong loos?

TheOtherRaven · 30/04/2025 20:46

Hope they'll be very happy. In some country where they don't dangerously have to accept other people have rights too.

tartyflette · 30/04/2025 20:47

Well, it's really not difficult is it? Travel to St Pancras, catch a Eurostar to Paris. Voilà.
(TBH, I wouldn't stay in France too long, hard right person Marine le Pen looks likely to be the next French President. Italy -- oops, much the same problem, and hard right parties are gaining ground in several other European countrirs.
I'd stay here if I was trans, it is clear we cannot be discriminated against in terms of employment, pay, housing, services etc under Equality legislation, we just can't use spaces designed for the biological opposite sex.
