And, particularly egregious, as well as nothing to do with the purported topic:..."what does that mean in practice? Trans women on men’s wards, trans men on women’s wards?"...er, yes, that's right. And?

My mum died in A&E last month – and the place was like a war zone | Zoe Williams

Amid the debate about trans people on hospital wards we have lost sight of dignity, respect and the horrifying reality of a health service in meltdown, writes Zoe Williams

Zoe Williams and Owen Jones are the pits. I might think about donating to the Guardian again if they were both sacked.

Jonathan Liew and the all-male sports opinionators would need to go too. And they’d need to make Sonia Sodha editor. Bring back Hadley, Julie and Suzanne. Then I will subscribe once more!

I've seen a video of her saying this about soccer. Unbelievable.

She also has a badly trained dog, and has no shame about it.

Thick as mince, indeed.

People who make this completely bonkers claim, I always wonder why they aren't up in arms complaining about all the trans men being allowed into men's sports to steal all the team places and medals with their unfair advantage. It's a mystery.

As a Remainer, her columns really made me understand why some people voted Brexit.

She just couldn’t comprehend that her experience of life was not universal.

ZW seems to be an embodiment to the point of caricature of the epistemic class that Matt Goodwin describes in his essay and book: Rise of the New Elite.

Did ZW even listen to the evidence of women like Ciara Curran who gave such compelling witness testimony at the 19 Feb 2024 Preterm Birth Committee?

CC set up Little Heartbeats in response to a personal tragedy. She spoke about the impact of dehumanising language about women who already feel dismissed and overlooked. I’m haunted by her advocacy for the retention of important words like “woman” and “mother”.
”I keep being told that we need medical research to back any changes and policies to PPROM, yet no research is in place to support the removal of terms such as “woman” and “mother” from health communications and policy, and no one appears to have taken into account the impact of the loss of these words on women who have lost babies…”
””We are erasing our language without any medically backed research and without understanding the impact that it is having. I have switched off from healthcare advice because it makes no sense to me when we erase language…The importance of understanding women’s health will help prevent preterm birth in the future, but I feel we are damaging this.”

I think ZW is one of those who thinks men and women have segregated sports because otherwise the women would beat the men… I think thinking in general is not her strong suit.

Yeah she is, I remember a conversation on TalkTV I think with an absolutely incredulous Ella Whelan.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 30/04/2025 20:32

How would Zoe feel about her sick mum being in a bed next to a large bearded male who claims to be a woman? As many of them do.

Arran2024 · 03/05/2025 11:51

I remember reading ZW way, way back, maybe in the London Evening Standard. My overriding memory was that she seemed to drink /get drunk at an alarming rate and she was obsessed with dogs, particularly bull terriers. I was kind of fascinated with her back then as she just drank and drank and drank.....
