Good god. Lush has launched a trans rights campaign along with the introduction of a gender affirming care policy to support its trans, non-binary and gender diverse staff.

Shame as I do quite like some of their offering. But I won’t be giving them any more money.

The infiltration of TRAs runs deep.

borntobequiet · 25/04/2025 09:37

Lush has form for being all in with the genderwoo. I think at one point it was facilitating the acquisition of breast binders in secret so parents didn’t know.

TheCatsTongue · 25/04/2025 09:39

Good for Lush, a lot of people spend up to £100k on medical procedures hopefully Lush offers that to all employees, I'm sure they won't see an influx of people wanting a job for those freebies, and I'm sure they won't run out of money funding it all.

AllPlayedOut · 25/04/2025 09:42

I passed by the store in Princes Street, Edinburgh yesterday and saw that illustration in the window and immediately thought that they’re never getting a penny of my money again. I buy them as gifts for some Lush addict friends, but no longer.

Bloody hell! Disgusting barely covers that one.

AllPlayedOut · 25/04/2025 09:44

It really is a cult.

Chersfrozenface · 25/04/2025 09:44

That will be Lush, a company whining earlier this month that it would have to put up prices due to the increase in employer's National Insurance rates.

Doesn't want to contribute to e.g. running the NHS, yet can afford this kind of harmful bobbins.

There is a parallel between lush claiming to be all natural/green but actually selling fake smelly shit, and men claiming to be women ……

The overpowering scent of their stores, which always expands 60 feet into the street in all directions, makes me feel nauseous.

Or women claiming to be men? And that is now the higher percentage amongst younger people.

HermioneWeasley · 25/04/2025 09:46

They are free to do so.

people who don’t support it are free to spend their money elsewhere.

depending on what they’re funding, I wonder if there’s a sex discrimination claim liability - for example if they fund hair removal for TW but not women?

Namerchangee · 25/04/2025 09:46

I bet Lucy & Yak will be next. And Snag.

Sassysoonwins · 25/04/2025 12:47

I haven't bought anything from Lush since they were aggressively rude about JKR on twitter years ago. If they don't think biological women are real then this biological woman won't be buying from them. Shame about the bathbombs but I've found alternatives.

I once went into a Lush to see what the fuss was about, and nearly passed out with all the smells. My husband of the time had to physically help me out of the store to a nearby bench as my legs gave way.

I just don't get what the attraction of all those heavily scented products is. Even one at a distance makes me gag.

SidewaysOtter · 25/04/2025 12:54

I was a huge fan of Lush and spent a lot of money there. I love the smell of their shops and they make some brilliant products.

But they've been absolute arseholes to a variety of groups over the years and I stopped shopping with them quite a while back.

lcakethereforeIam · 25/04/2025 12:58

I used to spend money when they were Cosmetics-2-Go. Everything was done by mail and I looked forward to receiving their new newspaper/catalogue. I made my Christmas angel with net from their packaging. In short we went way back. I've not spent a penny there for years.

Orangemintcream · 25/04/2025 12:58

What exactly does their policy involve ?

SquirrelSoShiny · 25/04/2025 12:59

I used to love them but the binders thing REALLY put me off them. Haven't bought anything there in years.

I am exactly the same.
DD requested bath bombs from there last Christmas- I got her some from a small independent maker.

Lush Manchester has a lovely display in the window.

CervixSampler · 25/04/2025 13:27

I’m so glad the Lego store is moving from next door to the stench. I’ll see if I can get a photo of the delights.

Yes, very depressing that young girls are figuring out early that it's easier to be male. Many of them autistic and very uncomfortable with the changes in their body as well IME.
I've never shopped in Lush, I can't even go near a shop due to the vile smell.

Bluebootsgreenboots · 25/04/2025 13:38

I’m imagining the interview.
candidate: so what’s the hourly rate?
lush: not only do we pay living wage, but we have a great benefits package.
candidate: oh great, what’s included?
lush: fantastic staff discount on all our products for staff and their families, and staff who ID as trans can even get sterilisation and reduced sexual function when they’ve been with us for 6 months.

ChaToilLeam · 25/04/2025 13:40

I stopped buying their stuff a long time ago. They're up to their necks in genderwoo.

Don't forget women getting the opportunity to share toilets with men
