Morning Star; a wake-up call for the trade union movement (Sandie Peggie case)

This article is a breath of fresh air; see how correctly sexing those involved in the case makes it so easy to understand?

If only all journalists would do the same.
(Morning Start have published numerous GC articles)

"Sandie Peggie’s claim against NHS Fife is for sexual harassment, belief discrimination and victimisation. A nurse with 30 years’ service, she objected to sharing a female changing room at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy with a male doctor who identifies as a woman. Her employer’s policy meant her single-sex changing room was now mixed sex."

I'd also be asking them why they have published articles by Liz Curr. Liz Curr is open about his transvestitic fetishism.

'During my teens I used to borrow clothes from my mums closet (and those of m,y sister that fitted) even just a pair of ordinary panties made me feel somehow calm and relaxed'

Curr's Facebook 'likes' are also instructive. (They are public, anyone can view them.)

And here is 'Liz' talking about pronouns in RCN magazine:

'I ask students to question their own assumptions. Where did your ideas of male/female and feminine/masculine come from? How do you interact with people whose sexuality or gender differs from your own? We’ve got to undo a lot of what we already know.'

Curr also presented at Congress:

  • Liz Curr will be presenting a matter for discussion at RCN Congress 2022 about access to care for transgender and non-binary patients.
  • Liz was awarded Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year at the 2021 Nursing Times Workforce Awards.

@ArabellaScott I have pm'd you with a query

Why oh why do some women fete and fawn over these frankly creepy men? Would they do the same for a man who stole their underwear from the washing line? And this is worse.

Why do some women want men such as this to have full access to women undressing? Why do some women think this acceptable?

What is being advocated for is simple it is that women MUST remove their clothes in front of men who wish them to do so.

Slow hand clap for all the women supporting and promoting this.

Yes. I'm so over it.

The enablers need to grow up.

And the extraordinarily careful stepping around or over statements such as the following
During my teens I used to borrow clothes from my mums closet (and those of my sister that fitted) even just a pair of ordinary panties made me feel somehow calm and relaxed'
...which aim to conceal the basic sexual element of cross dressing for many men. They get aroused by putting on 'female' clothing, they masturbate and are then 'calm and relaxed.'
(And similarly by using womens' toilets and changing rooms too -- a well known transwoman posted to this effect recently. It was thrilling, apparently. )

OuterSpaceCadet · 22/07/2025 14:45

Jfc the word "panties" makes me want to vom. Such a man word, and never used by the kind of man you'd want anywhere near your underwear. Creepy.

Please God let the unions wake up and support women. Hadn't realised RCN had refused to support Ms Peggie.

I don’t know of any union, apart from the new Darlington nursing union, that does support women in these circumstances.

We need a big national discussion about this. And not just the unions but the whole establishment: government, NHS, education sector, the whole lot. Women’s rights have been dropped like a bit of litter,.

https://www.rcn.org.uk/magazines/Advice/2021/September/Legal-update-gender-critical-views-and-belief-protection

Gosh, the RCN is captured.

'This is an important decision, but it does not mean that trans people are not protected under the Equality Act 2010. The EAT pointed out that it does not mean those with gender critical views can misgender trans people with impunity and it does not mean that employers will not be able to provide a safe environment for trans people. It does, however, demonstrate the extremity of beliefs that will be excluded from amounting to a belief with reference to the Equality Act. '

I was more generous in my reading of that article back in 2021 😁
I hoped it showed that at least some legal people at RCN recognised the importance of Forstater EAT and that activists/reps couldn't simply refuse to support a member because of suspicions of 'transphobia'.
Sadly my assessment has proved to be wrong as shown by RCN treatment of Darlington Nurses Union and SP.

Arran2024 · 24/07/2025 11:53

Unions will refuse to represent members who are considered to have broken union policies. They won't support someone who is considered to have been racist, and they won't support someone who is considered transphobic.

I noticed they were particularly annoyed at a left wing publication noticing the class power dynamic.

Edited

They get very upset when a British person or institution does something that doesn't fall within their preferred, US culturally imperialist, left wing= pro trans right wing= GC analysis. The existence of far left gender criticals is inconvenient.

An NHS hospital in Darlington has been warned that its policy of allowing men who identify as women to use female changing rooms breaks the law.

The Royal College of Nursing warned County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust that Darlington Memorial Hospital was in breach of Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, which require the provision of single-sex changing facilities for men and women.

The RCN has highlighted that the 1992 regulations required “the provision of single-sex changing facilities for men and women – the only exception being where the provision is of single lockable rooms (not cubicles)”.

The letter, sent on 27 March, added that “the regulations also appear to have been overlooked by other organisations”, and stated that the college “expects the trust to comply with these statutory provisions and provide single-sex changing rooms without delay”.
