More violent tactics used in an attempt to silence women

"I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-trans man. One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine. The Capitol police arrested the guy. Your trans violence and threats on my life will only make me double down. FAFO"

Disgusting. TRAs again? Wow. Shocked.
(not)

Appalonia · 11/12/2024 09:55

That's appalling. But, it doesn't make them look v good does it? Not very 'womanly'.

PandorasMailbox · 11/12/2024 09:58

All they're doing is proving our point. I'm glad Nancy's okay, but it could've been so much worse.

Helleofabore · 11/12/2024 10:14

How very scary for her. I am glad she is ok but when has violence towards women been the answer?

It's never been the answer, just an excuse.

You are spot on.

"The fact men are often so violent really makes me want to share changing rooms with them," said no woman ever.

Harassedevictee · 11/12/2024 11:08

I really admire women in the public eye who stand up for women. They know there is a high probability of threats as well as actual violence.

It does shine light on the reality of TW, but it’s not right that anyone should be subjected to this. I hope they lock them away.

As Germaine Greer said women have very little idea of how much men hate them.

Quite.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 11/12/2024 11:09

They're not doing a good job of persuading us they're not male and are different to other males, so we shouldn't be frightened of them are they?

TENSsion · 11/12/2024 11:12

Man turning violent when he’s told “no”, well, who’d have thunk it?

Any woman willing to stand up for herself and other women against threats and violence, no matter what her political persuasion, has my utmost admiration.

This article gives the man's name and age but, despite the headline, very little other information about him

Thanks. It'll be interesting to see how they deal with this now that the tide is most definitely turning.

"Assault on a government official" sounds a rightly serious charge.

I hope the FAFO mantra really holds true @Ereshkigalangcleg

The article says "Multiple studies and reviews have found no evidence to support claims that transgender individuals pose an increased threat to safety in bathrooms. Transgender people are also more likely to be the victims of violent crimes than those who are not."

Which shows they haven't done their homework. Women are no risk to other women, ordinary men are a considerable risk, and prison statistics prove that trans identified men are a lot more dangerous to women compared to ordinary blokes.

Also their risk of being murdered in the west is lower than that of ordinary men, and far lower than that of women. The inflated statistics are all based on the murder of trans identified male prostitutes in South America, where once again statistics show that prostituted women are more at risk, since they are less physically capable of fighting off male attackers.

lcakethereforeIam · 11/12/2024 11:59

I rolled my eyes at that bit. If they're going to pad their article, ffs, they should have some self respect and not peddle misinformation.

OvaHere · 11/12/2024 12:24

Man reacts violently to being told no shocker.

Multiple studies and reviews, eh? Loaded ones done by transw and not backed up at all by Police statistics.

Cailleach1 · 11/12/2024 12:55

I have read in the news about a number of assaults and murders by women. It then transpires that the perpetrator was a man. I suppose it is newsworthy as it is purported to have been committed by a woman. However, it is still just male pattern violence, of which the vast majority of this type is. With someone pretending it was committed by a woman.

The 33-year-old suspect arrested over the assault of Congresswoman @NancyMace is LGBTQ+ activist James McIntyre, of Cook County, Ill.

lcakethereforeIam · 11/12/2024 13:12

There's a bio of the alleged attacker here

https://www.fosterclub.com/biographies/james-mcintyre

It seems James has been through the wringer but has done good work and was positioned to do more. It's a shame that looks like it'll be thrown away with an act of violence that helps no-one and is actually likely to be counterproductive.

One thing from the bio gives me pause

his four other sisters

which is probably just clumsy wording but a history of trauma and of being in the care system are often in the backstory of women who claim a trans identity. Not that it really matters and I don't want to start a transhunt.

Yep. Their violence should not be our problem to solve
