This weekend BBC had Kellie Maloney predicting the football scores on BBC Sport. It’s part of a series with Chris Sutton and each week guests are invited to predict the Premiership scores. I personally found this weeks choice of guest particularly repulsive. Kellie is someone who has been violent towards his ex-wife. It is a well known fact that a team loosing is often a trigger for a man’s violence towards their partners and children. And the BBC chose someone who has committed violence towards his wife to choose the scores??? Of all the people out there who support football they chose Kellie Maloney ??? Why? What on earth was the thought process behind this???

I'm afraid I know nothing about football or this particular incident, but if what you are saying is true, it's APPALLING that any man convicted or suspected of hitting a woman is allowed to put his pov on anything.

HerGorgeousMajestyArabellaScott · 21/10/2024 12:04

Och, you strangle your ex wife once and everyone keeps banging on about it.

Miss Maloney is a cause celebre, feted by police and the media! Why do you women keep kvetching about a wee bit of domestic violence?!

'The former Marden pub landlady was mentioned in an article in The Sunday Times yesterday, which referred to an incident in 2005, when she strangled her ex-wife.
Miss Maloney said: "It's an incident we laugh about now."'

'Me and ex laugh at strangling incident'

Kellie Maloney has spoken out over an article highlighting her violent past.

HerGorgeousMajestyArabellaScott · 21/10/2024 12:09

Oh, oops, this article has a different slant:

'Maloney’s second wife Tracey, the biggest victim of Kellie’s middle-aged attempts to shore up her identity as “Frank”, is unsurprisingly still angry, if understanding. Her three daughters also air their ambivalence; they continue to call her “Dad”.'

Heartwarming in the end, though, I'm sure as wee Frank gets over his murderous woman-hating rage to get the plastic surgery he always knew in his wee golden heart was his birthright.

Knock Out Blonde: The Kellie Maloney Story review – trans boxing promoter fights for identity

After steering Lennox Lewis to world heavyweight success, her transition to Kellie was a tabloid sensation. This intimate and moving documentary tells us much more

Shows how domestic abuse and violence towards their partners is part and parcel of male dominance. But, some would say, Maloney is part of the most vulnerable demographic. 🙄

Believerinbiology · 21/10/2024 12:13

Just Googled him and found another news article. He openly admits he could have killed her too...Said he doesn't know what the outcome would have been if his two young children hadn't walked in on him strangling their mother! Talks about the fear in her eyes. at he wasn't violent after but bullied her verbally. Oh and wouldn't you now it...none of this is his fault cos he was struggling with his identity!

HerGorgeousMajestyArabellaScott · 21/10/2024 12:14

Fuck this violent, misogynistic man to the far side of the solar system and back again. How dare he play for sympathy, the nasty wee bastard.

I hope his wife and daughters are doing okay.

HerGorgeousMajestyArabellaScott · 21/10/2024 12:15

Also: Fuck those who are lionising him.

Zero tolerance of male violence against Women and Girls.

VermillionGreen · 21/10/2024 12:16

Poor children!

MrsOvertonsWindow · 21/10/2024 12:21

So odd that in this cancel culture era the BBC & other media unquestioningly promote the careers of wife stranglers, extreme porn addicts, organisations with paedophile / porn scandals, men who speak positively about sex with children and those who closely ally with a host of other criminals including sex offenders & attempted murders.

It's almost as if there's a sacred caste who cannot be challenged 😡

HerGorgeousMajestyArabellaScott · 21/10/2024 12:21

'Describing [his] behaviour at the time as 'like a madman possessed,' it was only when the couple's frightened daughters rushed into the room that the former boxing promoter realised what he was doing.
Kellie said: 'What brought me back to my senses was the sound of their frightened voices. If they hadn't come into the room at that point I dread to think what might have happened.'
After leaving the holiday home, Frank walked the streets of Portugal for hours, trying to gather his thoughts.

Although Kellie never got violent with Tracey again, [he] has confessed that [he] was a 'verbal bully' instead, as [he] attempted to battle [his] inner turmoil and pent-up feelings.'

(The Mail seem to have got a bit confused withthe pronouns, calling Maloney 'he' in the first para but 'she' in the fourth. I've fixed the error for them.)

HerGorgeousMajestyArabellaScott · 21/10/2024 12:24

Oh, look, he was consistently violent. Not just his ex wife he strangled:

'“Anger would build up in me. It was more anger with myself and I’d take it out on people around me,” says Kellie. “I grabbed a couple of people in the office round the neck, pushed them up against the wall and threatened them.”'

Sorry, this is the radio programme:

duc748 · 21/10/2024 13:19

Oh, Frank Maloney, boxing: that's the guy? Don't follow boxing, but I recall the name. Had no idea about all of this.

wantmorenow · 21/10/2024 14:04

An abusive, violent and dangerous man and husband. Shame he is prosecuted for this now. It's not like he denies anything.

PaterPower · 21/10/2024 16:04

“Knock out blonde” 🙄

  • Cliched
  • Clearly untrue - if the play on words refers to his wig
  • Grossly offensive - in light of his confessed attempt to kill his ex wife and assaults on others (colleagues?)
MrsTerryPratchett · 21/10/2024 16:15

it was only when the couple's frightened daughters rushed into the room that the former boxing promoter realised what he was doing.

Child abuse as well. Because maybe that should give them pause when merely almost killing a woman by strangulation doesn't.

tinkerella1 · 21/10/2024 19:06

There’s no way the BBC would’ve allowed someone who confessed to racist behaviour to contribute to this weekly column on the website. It’s utterly wrong to have Maloney a self confessed abuser to contribute. The editorial team should have picked this up. I appreciate the complaints link and I will definitely be complaining. They now full well the link between a team loosing and violence against women and girls being committed. It was totally inappropriate to give Maloney the oxygen of publicity and in essence clean his reputation by being used by an institution like the BBC.

Chariothorses · 21/10/2024 19:19

As @MrsOvertonsWindow says above, this is about ' trans' being a sacred caste, treated differently at the BBC. They usually remove footage of abusive men \ fathers from their online resources and presenting team, but this requirement is not followed for men who say they are women.

MarieDeGournay · 21/10/2024 19:54

Before he became his true self, Kellie also made extremely homophobic remarks when he was a UKIP candidate in 2004

'...Gay Conservatives who demanded that he step down as UKIP's mayoral candidate.
'Frank Maloney is a dangerous extremist and should resign or be sacked as UKIP's candidate for London mayor," said chairman James Davenport.
"UKIP must back or sack their homophobic candidate.
BBC NEWS | UK | Politics | UKIP candidate sparks gay anger

and there were [unproven in court, in fairness] accusations about allegedly threatening behaviour towards a young boxer, Darren Sutherland, who took his own life.

But that was Frank, not Kellie, so all's well that ends well, eh?

I see that Imane Khélif chap is going pro, if he's looking for a manager...?

duc748 · 21/10/2024 20:12

Didn't someone try to whack Maloney years ago, or am I thinking of another boxing guy?

Datun · 22/10/2024 09:20

If a man is strangling his wife and he says the only thing that stopped him killing her was his children coming in, why isn't he arrested for attempted murder?

Igmum · 22/10/2024 09:22

Oh FFS the bloody BBC. All sins are washed away by the miracle of trans. Whiter than white.

Gosh.

'I have said I don't want to campaign around gays because I don't think they will vote for me.
"I don't think they do a lot for society. I don't have a problem with gays, what I have a problem with is them openly flaunting their sexuality.
"I will go to Camden. I'm not a career politician - I'm not going to say one thing one day. I said it as an off the record remark.
"I'm more for traditional family values and family life. I'm anti same-sex marriages and I'm anti same-sex families.
"I don't think it's right for children to be brought up that way. I don't think two men can bring up a child.
"If you are homosexual, you are homosexual - just get on with your life and stop bitching about things."'

Maloney

Interesting, when you consider his treatment by BBC and Guardian to that of the Gio chap from Strictly, whose career lies in tatters. I am not saying the dancer was innocent but clearly wasn't part of the sacred cast. I wonder what the outcome would have been if the dancer had been a TW.
