Quite the cash saving if you can…

Not reading a source of information because you don’t agree with it or like the source is a valid decision. Anyone can make it. Each to their own. But it does mean that people should be able to choose to ignore that person’s opinion without feeling concerned about it. Because it means that it is not really an informed one.

Well it turns out that the man many thought was proving a point as the hairy version of Mulvaney, was doing just that. Josh Seiter.

‘A guy pretended to be a “transwoman” for 6 months to show people how ridiculous it is that anyone would think a man can be a woman at all.’

‘If you’re still not convinced, think of it this way: would you have supported him going into a woman only space last week but not this week?’

But absolutely no one would go to all the trouble of pretending to be trans, right?

Discernment is an important skill in life, try it.

Ha, yes we know. Especially when it comes to our single sex spaces.

Trans people are ALL terribly mentally distressed and just want to go quietly about their lives.
As all the evidence shows. 🤔

I know right? You can always tell, doesn’t matter how much makeup or what’s being worn. As they say, it’s just innate for women as it’s so linked to physical safety, being able to discern what the truth is.

As PPs have pointed out, it is no longer legal for insurance companies to offer different rates for male and female drivers. (They can give different rates for older and younger drivers, however.)

In Canada, however, it is legal (or at least was six years ago). A man did change his legal sex so he could claim lower car insurance:

Canadian 'changes' sex for cheaper auto insurance

How far would your clients go for a reduced premium?

Interesting, it makes you think that this has been a problem for insurance companies for years.

It used to be illegal for a man to pretend to be a woman for insurance purposes.

Now, of course, women have to pay the price for their entitlement.

Haha, I thought this was funny:

IBC spokesman Steve Kee warned that changing gender could constitute fraud.
“If you’re going to declare on any document, you need to be truthful,” Kee said. “If not, you’re making a fraudulent claim. This could impact you for any future insurance application that you make, or any other aspect of your life.”

Women don’t have cocks. How about that?

🤣🤣🤣👌

Looking back, I think the decision by insurance companies to stop taking sex into account when calculating risk was one of the early signs that women as a group/class were going to be written out of existence.

I remember being confused as to how they could 'discriminate' [in an OK way, I mean] on the basis of age, but not sex. It seemed irrational, difficult to justify, and just plain ol' anti-women.

Little did I know that this was just the first step in a whole campaign of writing 'woman' out of many areas of life...

It was actually a decision forced on them by EU law when we were still in the EU. I don't think insurance companies wanted to do it at all. Discriminating on the basis of age, however, was not illegal, because at that point the relevant EU legislation hadn't been passed. And now we're out of the EU so it doesn't affect us anyway.

Caveat: this is my memory of events and I CBA to google. Maybe a lawyer will come along and confirm or correct me.

Insurance companies can no longer take sex into account, but women still pay much less on average - even more so than before. This is because insurers instead use risk indicators like occupation, type of car, address, and claims history - and men are much more likely to be in the riskier category on all of these.

So there would be no advantage to a man pretending to be a woman, but moving to Northern Ireland, changing jobs to be a nursery teacher, and buying a Fiat Panda would be a big money saver.

I was amazed to see the bit about NI, it always used to be way more expensive for insurance here! It must have shot up in the rest of the UK in the last few years.
