Maine: girl attacked by trans schoolmate who previously sexually harassed female students

Please note the assault was incredibly brutal & it is -rightly - described - in full: I would advise you not read it if eating/drinking or liable to be distressed by the description/images of injuries.

For the benefit of those who (understandably) don’t feel comfortable clicking the link given that:
• a girl was assaulted by a male student on her school bus after going to defend her (female) friend from the student; the bus driver split the students up & contacted the school to get staff to meet them on arrival
• the Principal met the schoolbus & while the 2 girls exited first; he said something 2 the victim that caused her to turn back & complain about the lack of protection for her friend - at which point the male student exited the bus & began a brutal assault that last minutes & was ended by the bus driver’s physical intervention: the Principal did not intervene, despite being allowed & trained to do so
• the girl has been left with serious injuries; the male student has been “identifying as female” for several years & on oestrogen for 2 months; the complaints against them of sexual harrassment at their previous school were so extensive that a group of girls organised a protest over their behaviour, but the school administration dismissed the complaints (a pattern of tug-sweeping we have seen before)

As reported by the Maine Wire. The only other news coverage is the screenshot attached - missing an awful lot of key information.

Absolutely to the font @Emotionalsupportviper! Sadly, seriously, I suspect there are people who will seek to blame the girls, saying they provoked the attack. IDGAF what they posted online, that thug half-killed someone smaller & weaker than him - that’s never ok.

[Edit: to be clear, physical violence is never ok full stop, regardless of aggressor/victim combo; it’s just particularly egregious to batter someone so much not your own size…)

Any comments, @TofuTart , @Christinapple ?

ChaChaChooey · 15/10/2024 01:33

Fucking hell!

The male student needs arresting and the principle needs suspending pending a potential dismissal for gross negligence.

Well done to that bus driver for stepping in and to the girl for attempting to stick up for her friend against this vile, abusive bully.

Shuffling abusive males to different schools doesn’t work, it just gives them a whole new set of classmates to victimise.

ChaChaChooey · 15/10/2024 01:38

He BIT HER FACE! And the VICTIM was suspended!

and the principle wanted the footage (evidence of a crime) deleted!

ArcaneWireless · 15/10/2024 02:03

Not surprising to see the things we are told will never happen/don’t happen just keep on happening.

Shame on those who stood by and watched it.

andIsaid · 15/10/2024 04:16

The fact that he bit her face while the principle stood and talked says all we need to know.

But so does the fact that the trans person was moved to the school after behaving in very disturbing ways in a previous school, and parents were not notified.

I mean, he was filming under the doors of the loo and masturbating the girls toilets.

How can a school guarantee safety of all students if they agree to hide this kind of thing.

andIsaid · 15/10/2024 04:19

I remember a few years ago there was a similar thing in a school over there in Virginia where a male identifying as trans raped a girl.

It turned out that he had done it before in a different school.

Again, the schools hid the information and tried to isolate the victim and her family.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 09:21

Yes, and then there was some political shock and the "right" guy didn't get in and people in the media blamed the girl, her family, social media and the media who had reported on it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 09:28

McAuliffe and his campaign have largely avoided commenting on the sexual assault cases.

To the degree McAuliffe’s campaign has discussed the sexual assault controversy, it’s described it as a “transphobic dog whistle” because of a complicating issue in the case: the suspect wore a skirt during the first sexual assault.

The McAuliffe campaign has instead zeroed in on a Youngkin TV ad, also released this week and airing statewide, that features a mom complaining that McAuliffe, as governor, vetoed a bill designed to notify parents about sexually explicit reading materials used in schools.

I read this stuff and think America is lost. We can never stop fighting here to defend our rights.

That poor girl. The violent male who attacked her needs to be incarcerated. The Head should hang his head in shame.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 09:36

A good article about it all from Mary Harrington, tackling the elephant in the room

Conservatives claimed that the cover-up was part of an effort by the school leadership to protect Loudoun County’s recently-enacted Policy 8040, a controversial change permitting students to self-identify their gender and obliging staff to humour their new self-declared identities. Defenders of the school, meanwhile, allege that the assault took place within the context of an existing sexual relationship, and that the rapist never identified as transgender.

But it’s clear that the assault happened: the boy was later convicted. And it doesn’t matter how he identified. Opponents of self-ID have been warning for years that if you make an exception to blanket single-sex bathroom policies, you’ll open the door for men to prey on young women.

Self-ID means everyone is allowed to use the bathroom that accords with their gender identity, rather than their sex. But this leaves no way of distinguishing between men with real gender identity issues, and the ones who are only pretending because they wish to prey on vulnerable women.

Liberals can whine all they like that the Loudoun Countyty_ sexual assault wasn’t really^ an instance of a transgender assault in the girls’ bathroom, because the boy didn’t really identify as trans. But what difference does that make? The student still exploited the loophole for wrong-sex bathroom use, and an underage girl was harmed as a result.
Loudoun County’s school officials didn’t consider this. Or perhaps, blinded by gender ideology, they simply didn’t care. Certainly, the school district’s handling of this disturbed and dangerous boy suggests a pattern of woke indifference to the safety of young women.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2024 09:38

Just to clarify, that article is about the rapes in Loudon county which left wing people called "a transphobic dog whistle" as I imagine they'd call this violent attack too.

FranticFrankie · 15/10/2024 10:55

Wanting to protect women from men is often called a transphobic dog whistle though isn’t it? Where are the TAs? Any comment?

FranticFrankie · 15/10/2024 10:56

Hah! Of course not! In the same way as you never see them on the Tribunal Tweet threads or any of the prison policy threads for example. And the same way as when Dadjoke disappears off a thread when he's unable to actually counter an evidence based, reality based post.

But oh, the pronoun/misgendering posts? They're all over those.

Indeed. Their finger prints are worn off hitting the report buttons on those threads 😂

Could instructing children to delete videos of a crime happening be a criminal offense?

I'd say that it's incitement, or conspiracy to destroy, or conceal evidence. I'm sure the State Education Board will (or perhaps not...) be interested in disciplining him, for offering to write off 10 hours of their mandated community service.

The Principal is a pathetic, contemptible shit for allowing the boy to beat the girl, without intervening. It's reprehensible of him to have suspended the girl, knowing that she was the victim. The whole thing is an exercise in him covering his yellow arse.

He needs to be sacked, prosecuted and banned from the education profession entirely.

💯 this
That video footage is shocking.

The principal should be utterly utterly ashamed and the female identifying male teen should be prosecuted

Kucinghitam · 15/10/2024 14:24

The principal is a Righteous warrior for The Right Side of History, and therefore anything and everything he does towards that aim is not just forgivable, but indeed worthy of the highest praise.

(Also in sarcastic font).

Britinme · 18/10/2024 19:36

I live in Maine. Maine Wire is a small newspaper. The overwhelmingly large newspaper, the Portland Press Herald, and its subsidiaries, carried nothing about this story. All their trans stuff is "be kind" and how oppressed they are. Our governor is also behind this approach. If the Republicans weren't so vile on every other issue I would vote for them, but sadly I can't possibly (and haven't, since I have already voted by mail-in ballot) vote for Trump or his acolytes.

duc748 · 18/10/2024 19:56

Do you come across many (any?) terfy Democrat voters, Brit?

Britinme · 19/10/2024 03:38

Honestly I don't discuss it with many people @duc748 . My arty community is very "be kind" and so is my best friend who knows all about TW because there are a couple in her husband's AA community and she likes them. We have agreed not to discuss the topic. Very occasionally it comes up elsewhere - the women I meet at the swimming pool are thoroughly terfy, but we don't discuss politics so I have no idea who they vote for!

NitroNine · 29/10/2024 22:43

Students at the school organised a walk-out on the 24th of October - local media chose not to mention the violent thug who assaulted two female students was male [& identifying as female], colour me utterly unshocked.

The victim’s father started a Change.org petition shortly after the assault took place seeking the removal of Haney as Principal. Some of the details in it further underline just how disgraceful Haney’s conduct was: declining to have the police present to apprehend the student who committed the assaults on the school bus stating he would handle it himself only to then stand by & fail to intervene - beyond uselessly interjecting “stop it ViolentStudentName!”, much like the owner of a badly-behaved dog wailing “drop it Mr Fluffykins!” as their hound merrily murders the neighbour’s rabbit; or That Parent querulously suggesting that perhaps their offspring might consider NOT biting/hitting/running in the restaurant-gallery-church-museum… 🤦‍♀️

There are posts on TwiX saying the victim’s father has posted on FB to say that she has had to move schools because she is too frightened to return to MDIHS as her attacker is back in school. No copies of the posts are supplied so while I do not doubt the account who I saw post it; I am not able to evidence the claim.

OP posts:
andIsaid · 30/10/2024 00:24

It is just astounding that the victim had to move.

As for the media...
