Comical self owning barrister Sam Fowles has written another article about how terrible gender critical women are.

https://www.politics.co.uk/comment/2024/09/15/the-summer-that-exposed-the-anti-trans-movement/

"...In April the Cass Report gave a veneer of scientific legitimacy to the GC movement’s various claims. Both Labour and the Conservatives used the report as justification to prevent trans children from accessing puberty blockers (which, contrary to popular myth, do not prevent puberty but, rather, delay its onset). Cis children are still given accessss_. The report was swiftly rejected by medical bodies around the world."^

Was it now.

"...The events of the summer exposed the GC movement as, in the words of UN Womenen, an “anti-rights movement” which “puts the rights and lives of LGBTQI+ people at risk by… falsely portraying the rights of LGBTIQ+ people as competing with women’s rights.” In the UK, the movement has never achieved genuine popular appeal (despite near constant coverage, most voters polleded say they simply aren’t interested). Labour must consider whether, so early in its term, it wants to be seen as influenced by (what has now been revealed as), an extreme, fringe group.

According to his chambers website

Sam Fowles is a public lawyer with a particular interest in constitutional, administrative, information, and planning/environmental law, inquests, and public inquiries. He has appeared in many of the leading matters of recent years including Miller/Cherry v The Prime Minister, Hamilton v Post Office, and The Liberal Democrat Party/Scottish National Party v ITV. He has appeared at every level of tribunal, including the Supreme Court

He is utterly utterly obsessed.

Sam is an exceptionally privileged man, who should stay in his lane.

It’s nice to think that as Jolyon steps down from beclowning himself on this subject via the use of alternative facts, Sam will step in to take his place and take up his methods. Nature is healing 😏

Is Mr Sam quite well? I don’t see how his centre can hold for much longer.

Luxury beliefs galore, our Sam.

The English public school system has a lot to answer for here methinks.

And thank you Andrew Doyle. I enjoyed those snippets

As an aside, whoever coined 'beclowning' is a bloody genius.

It's beautifully accurate and, at the same time, deliciously offensive.

UtopiaPlanitia · 17/09/2024 22:52

It is such a useful word. I’ve no idea who coined it but I’ve picked up its use from listening to Glinner who uses it quite a bit.
