SNP MP, 'feared for his safety' after transwoman threats

... yet Chris Law voted for self ID, and called it a 'catastrophe' when the GRR Bill was blocked.

Chris would have 'Alannah' use women's spaces, despite 'Alannah' causing him 'fear and alarm'.

You are expecting logical thinking from him and you know that's not going to happen

HelloMyNameIsElderSmurf · 05/09/2024 22:56

We know what we know though, don't we, and at the point that someone is threatening you every single person in the world knows the difference between a man and a woman and adjusts their threat perception accordingly. We don't even know we're doing it.

As an aside, Alan/nah (and ofc that never happens,, does it?) was convicted of running about with a knife a couple of years ago and not jailed for it. WTF is going on with our criminal justice system.

Alannah is so... stunning... and. Brave.

Warmfeet · 06/09/2024 05:58

At least the witnesses were allowed to use the correct gender for him🙂

"Mr Law told Morgan’s trial: “I was getting out my car and an individual shouted at me by name. “They were 30 to 40 feet away. They started swearing at me."
Now imagine they are 2 feet away from you, blocking the exit in a enclosed toilet Mr Law and you might start to understand how women feel.

Exactly. But Mr Law clearly thinks that never happens.

"They"??? Not Mr Law misgendering a true and honest woman!

ArabellaScott · 06/09/2024 08:22

'Alannah' may well be vulnerable and marginalised btw. As Mr Law may now appreciate, this does not mean that Alannah is harmless.

I'm struck by the Sherriff's comments when Morgan's solicitor complained about misgendering:

"Sheriff Alistair Carmichael said: “I am sure the witness is not trying to be rude or anything.
“It is her perception that she is giving to the court.
“I don’t think any of us is qualified to tell her to do anything other than that.”"

Now that is a huge improvement!

He's clearly got special needs, but that still doesn't mean we have to call him a woman.

In this instance, I think it's quite helpful to call 'Alannah' a 'woman'. It is a great object lesson.

I'm wondering if this results in a prison sentence, if Mr Law will continue to support Alannah being sent to a woman's prison.

Strange how frightened he is of a mere woman. Surely he'd be well able to defend himself against that dainty and unthreatening lady?

Probably. He'll be safe from him then.
The female prisoners and prison officers less so.

Christinapple · 06/09/2024 14:47

What's the point? Do you expect people to change their views on an entire group of people based on the experience with 1 individual?

No but I would expect him to reconsider the views and experiences of women who say that they find transwomen in their single sex spaces intimidating and do some research into the levels of transwomen sex offenders and to either publicly state why he still agrees with letting any and all men into women's single sex spaces (assuming that he hasn't changed his mind)

The point, as ever, has whizzed straight over your head.

Namechangeforadhd · 06/09/2024 15:30

And Chris is a bloke, with all the physical advantages that brings. Perhaps he'd now like to think of the effect the behaviour of the lovely Alannah would have on an average female.

Christinapple · 06/09/2024 14:47

It’s always this “just one person” argument when you don’t want people to see destructive patterns in the behaviour of male transpeople

But yet the complete opposite is true when TRAs deliberately choose and champion a single ‘sympathetic’ individual (like Emily Bridges or Laverne Cox) as a poster child to try to sway public opinion and allow men break into women’s single sex spaces.

TRAs are also more than happy to benefit any from one individual no matter how heinous (like Adam Graham/Isla Bryson or StevenWood/Karen White).

It’s incredibly manipulative and hypocritical but also very transparent.

ArabellaScott · 06/09/2024 16:02

Acknowledging that men are more violent and more likely to abuse/assault, as well as being larger, stronger and heavier, is not basing a view on 'one individual'.

'Alannah' is male. 'Alannah' should not be in women's spaces or using women's services. That's all.

OP posts:
Namechangeforadhd · 06/09/2024 16:10

The 'just one individual' argument is one I find very frustrating.
I don't expect to change my view about males being in female spaces just because it might be OK for one particular male to be in a particular female space.

GeorgeOrwellsTurningGrave · 06/09/2024 16:20

Do you expect people (women) to change their (safeguarding) views on why an entire group of people (men) are excluded from womens spaces based on the experience of a small group of men who deny reality and think they are woman?

Fixed it for you.

SinnerBoy · 06/09/2024 16:29

Namechangeforadhd · Today 16:10

The 'just one individual' argument is one I find very frustrating.

But with so many just one individuals behaving similarly, it's eminently reasonable to see a pattern in a group.
