There have been five women now who have spoken to podcasts about the predatory behaviour of Neil Gaiman.

The books subreddit seems a bit saner than the fan subs for NG related properties, but... sheesh, there's always an element who want to make JKR the villain.

What does he mean there isn’t much besides quotes? Both Scarlett and Claire were interviewed on the podcast (and K? I haven’t listened to that episode), and Claire’s podcast had recordings of phone calls.

He’s probably one of Gaiman’s shitbots.

Do you feel the Guardian short report is done through gritted teeth! Concise piece with emphasis on allegation as if the emergence of the story without them mentioning would have looked like poor journalism?

Anything from the BBC yet? I'm starting to think the whole organisation should be closed down and investigated for corruption.

There was a brief mention yesterday on the main lunchtime news on Radio 4. A headline without any follow-up. I can't find anything on bbc.com or bbc.co.uk.

My DH even commented just yesterday that he was surprised the BBC haven't covered the NG story. We even searched at lunchtime to double check.

I was in the pub in Edinburgh last night talking with two big fans.

They have heard, they are utterly disgusted, they believe the victims, considering binning their collections of work. He's basically Comics Jimmy Savill to them, at this point.

"Comics Jimmy Saville" is what I'll be calling him from now on.

It's actually shocking to me that he hasn't responded at all, that his friends have said nothing in his defence or otherwise, that his wife is silent on the issue of her possible complicity. It's a level of arrogance and entitlement that I find appalling.

He's silent because speaking can only make it worse. Which suggests to me that there's either nothing at all to offer in mitigation or explanation, and/or a fear that more publicity will bring out more stories.

I was out last night with a very right-on friend who'd gathered NG was a bit of a creepy lech but 'still loved his books'. Two minutes later, on hearing about Scarlett's experience, he was off her reading list for good.

I thought that. Not at the time, obviously, but when the allegations came out it seemed to explain why he would risk the small chip to his ego as opposed to the large dent of being questioned by the police.

Yep I think when the allegations came out it became quickly apparent that he hadn't just jumped on a plane and broken quarantine restrictions for no good reason. His fleeing the scene speaks volumes.

It's weird. Do you think his PR company has taken away all his SM logins and this is his way of gaining control? A childish, self-destructive rebellion which shows no compassion for his victims.

Or will he allege that someone has hacked his account?
